The New Group will soon present Sweet Charity, the production launching the company's 2016-2017 Season. This twice-extended engagement, originally set to play through December 11, now runs through Friday, December 30.

Second Thought Theatre announced today details for this year's Second Thought State of Mind, an event celebrating STT and gathering support for the award-winning theatre company. The third annual Second Thought State of Mind invites guests to an evening of fun and fundraising featuring entertainment by Liz Mikel. Second Thought State of Mind will take place on Friday, November 4 at Sammons Center for the Arts.

Soul and Funk music legend Maceo Parker appears on the SOPAC stage OCT 9 at 7:30PM in a performance that promises to embellish on the soul/funk traditions first made popular in the 1970s. As an integral part of 'the Godfather of Soul' James Brown's band, Parker appeared on many of his best-selling recordings including 'I Feel Good,' 'Out of Sight' and 'Papa's Got A Brand New Bag.'

Many years later, with Lindy remarried and living in America, Australian playwright Alana Valentine was granted the ability to write a play based on this mass of correspondence and Lindy's experience. Letters to Lindy is a remarkable, surprising and touching reflection not so much on Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton herself, but on the impassioned public who one way or another found her so easy to relate to.
