ODC Theater presents THEATER UNPLUGGED

 Next month, ODC Theater is pleased to present the award-winning Epiphany Productions Sonic Dance Theater in a work-in-progress showing for Last Blue Couch in the Sky, scheduled to premiere at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in June. This edition of ODC's signature "Unplugged" format, a recurring platform offering a rare and candid look into the creative process, takes place for one night only, Sunday, March 26 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20, and may be purchased online at odc.dance/tickets or by phone at 415-863-9834.

LEAH, THE FORSAKEN is a tale of forbidden love, treachery, and redemption from 1862. Leah, a Jewish refugee fleeing persecution in Hungary, is forbidden by law to pass the night in an Austrian town. But there she wins the love of Rudolf, a Christian citizen. When a particularly zealous persecutor convinces Rudolf she has betrayed him, he quickly renounces her. Leah retreats to her exile, but only after bestowing her and her people's curse on him and his progeny. Can there be any light in such a darkened time, and what could possibly light it?

The Joffrey Ballet is pleased to announce a major leadership reorganization for the Joffrey Academy of Dance featuring a new team comprised of respected dance industry veteran Raymond Rodriguez as Head of Studio Company and Trainee Program, effective late October, and Joffrey Ballet's Karin Ellis-Wentz as Head of Pre-Professional Programs, effective immediately. Both of these newly created director-level positions will report to Karine Provost, who will serve in a newly elevated role as Academy Director. Additionally, Joffrey Ballet's Artistic Director Ashley Wheater will now serve as Artistic Director of both the Academy and the Company - assuming creative leadership across the organization.
