AXIS Dance Company Open-Rehearsal Tour Send-Off
Nearing the eve of their 30th anniversary, AXIS Dance Company welcomes their East Bay Community to the AXIS rehearsal studio at the Malonga for a special inside-peek at the repertory performed on the 15-city to go again tour in 2015-16 as they prepare to embark on their 2016-17 touring season.Over the past year, AXIS has connected with veteran populations across the United States with to go again, a dance theater work by Joe Goode inspired by veterans' stories of resilience. Additional works in the program include excerpts from Alex Ketley, Maurya Kerr and Bobbi Jene Smith's In Defense of Regret, Sonya Delwaide's Dix minutes plus tard and Marc Brew's Divide. This event is free. Four new dancers will be introduced to perform the repertory as it goes along followed by a Q&A and reception immediately following, with an opportunity to talk with Guest Artistic Director Marc Brew and Rehearsal Director Gregory Dorado over light snacks.
