The Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) today announced a new senior role for David Blyth as Property Director commencing on 28 March 2011. This is an Executive Board appointment and David will head up the Property, Health & Safety and Environmental Teams. He will continue to be based at ATG's St. Martin's Lane office.

For the first time since its debut in 2004, The American Theatre Wing's popular interview program 'Downstage Center' has traveled outside New York City to secure interviews with a quartet of major world theatrical figures, producing upcoming episodes with South African playwright Athol Fugard at the Long Wharf Theatre in New Haven CT, actor Sir Ian McKellen and producer/theatre owner Howard Panter in London, and playwright/director Alan Ayckbourn in Scarborough, England.

According to a report by Baz Bamigboye for UK Daily Mail, Ugly Betty star America Ferrera, is in talks to star in Neil LaBute's West End production of reasons to be pretty. Ferrera joins the previously announced Julia Stiles for the show, which is set to open in the spring at Ambassador Theatre Group.

As BroadwayWorld previously speculated, Brendan Fraser, who's film career includes The Mummy, G.I. Joe, Encino Man, Journey to the Center of the Earth and other films will make his Broadway debut in the Simon Bent play - Elling, Variety reports. The play, which will begin previews at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre on November 2, will open officially on November 21. The production will also star Denis O'Hare, Jennifer Coolidge, and Richard Easton and will be directed by Dough Hughes and produced by Howard Panter.
