Ryan Murphy: Spears 'Probably' Back for 2nd GLEE Episode

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, GLEE will feature a Britney Spears tribute episode in its second season, premiering September 21, 2010 on FOX. Heather Morris, who plays 'Brittany' on the show, will be playing Britney Spears in a dream sequence with Ms. Spears herself, it is believed. Zaptoit.com has revealed of the episode that 'New Directions' pleas for Britney tunes fall on deaf ears with Mr. Schuester (Matthew Morrison), so when they pay respective visits to the dentist (John Stamos), anesthesia-induced fantasies bring out the musical numbers and the all-but-official Britney cameo.' GLEE creator Ryan Murphy recently hinted to Access Hollywood that this episode may not be Spear's last. Murphy Officially Confirms Britney Spears Cameo on GLEE

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, GLEE will feature a Britney Spears tribute episode in its second season, premiering September 21, 2010 on FOX. Says GLEE star Lea Michele of the episode: it's '15 music videos inside this episode, very much like the Madonna [tribute episode].' Heather Morris, who plays 'Brittany' on the show, will be playing Britney Spears in a dream sequence. To date, however, GLEE execs were mum on whether or not Spears herself would be making a cameo in the episode. Series creator Ryan Murphy has finally spilled the beans and revealed on Ryan Seacrest's radio show today that - yes - Spears would be appearing on the show.

Zap2it reports on some upcoming GLEE details, shared by executive producer/creator Ryan Murphy at a press conference today. On upcoming guest directors, Murphy reveals: 'Adam Shankman is doing one, I think that's great. I think he's doing Episode 8 or 9 of the first 10.' As for future GLEE-helmers, he says, 'I'm just now getting calls from big movie directors who love the show. I can't say who they are obviously. I have talked to Baz Luhrmann about it. I love him and he loves the show, but his schedule is so crazy.'

The full schedule for this year's Comic-Con, to be held at the San Diego Convention Center from July 22 to July 25, has been announced. The Comic-Con will feature special guests including GLEE stars Chris Colfer, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Mark Salling, Heather Morris, and Naya Rivera, as well as GLEE executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. The group will appear in Ballroom 20 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm on July 25 to answer questions and preview Season Two. In addition, the show's assistant costume designer, Jennifer Eve, will appear at a costume designers event on July 23.

Willett from 'United States of Tara,' Scott Lowell ('Queer as Folk'), Jenna Leigh Green (Broadway's WICKED, 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch') and Larry Poindexter from MTV's upcoming series 'The Hard Times of RJ Berger' will all be starring in The Blank Theatre Company's Nationwide Young Playwrights Festival. Twelve winning plays by teenaged playwrights, aged 14 -19 from six different states, will be presented by professional actors and directors in the month-long Festival at The Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood beginning June 3, 2010.
