Broadway In Chicago has announced that individual tickets for the Tony Award-winning smash hit musical, Disney's NEWSIES, will go on sale to the public this Friday, October 10, at 10 AM. NEWSIES will play Chicago's Oriental Theatre (24 W Randolph) December 10, 2014 through January 4, 2015.

KINKY BOOTS, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony Award- winner Harvey Fierstein (book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award- winner for Best Score for KINKY BOOTS), opens at Segerstrom Center for the Arts from December 30, 2014 - January 11, 2015. Disney Theatrical Productions and Fifth Third Bank Broadway in Atlanta announced today that tickets for the highly anticipated Atlanta engagement of Disney's NEWSIES will go on sale to the public on Sunday, October 19 at 10 a.m. The Tony Award-winning production will begin performances at the Fox Theatre on Tuesday, January 20 for a limited one week engagement through Sunday, January 25 as part of the 2014/2015 Broadway in Atlanta series.

The 2014 Madison Fire Island Pines Literary and Theater Weekend will be a salute to Tony Award-winning director/choreographer Jerry Mitchell, and celebration of the many Broadway musicals and Hollywood films to which he has contributed.

It was an effervescent sold-out crowd that packed The Ridgefield Playhouse for the 14th Anniversary Gala on September 17 to see Willie Nelson, up-close-and-personal with his Family band. In an evening brimming with dinner courtesy of area food establishments, an open bar, silent and live auctions and honorees, it was the social event of the season.

Sean Patrick Doyle, currently appearing as an Angel in the Tony-winning hit musical Kinky Boots, provides the vocals for the title song in The Boxtrolls, a full length stop-motion from Laika and Focus Features, who brought audiences the Oscar-nominated Coraline and ParaNorman. In the song written by Monty Python's Eric Idle with Oscar-winning Atonement composer Dario Marianelli, Doyle voice-matches Academy Award-winner Ben Kingsley as the evil Archibald Snatcher's alter ego, M. Frou Frou. The animated feature topped the UK/Ireland box office when it began it's foreign release across eight markets, and arrives in theaters nationwide on September 26th. The soundtrack, featuring Doyle, is currently available for download on iTunes.

The Broadway League and The Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG) featured special guest performers Andy Karl, Jarrod Spector, Lindsay Mendez and Adam Heller in the sixth annual Broadway Salutes event on Tuesday, September 23rd, 2014. Four-time Tony® Award winning playwright and actor Harvey Fierstein was the host. This public celebration honored the countless professionals who have made Broadway great. In this industry-wide celebration, theatre professionals received special recognition for having worked 25, 35, and 50+ years on Broadway. Directed by Marc Bruni (Beautiful: The Carol King Musical), Broadway Salutes took place at Anita's Way, the public space next to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre (West 42nd to West 43rd Streets- between Sixth Avenue and Broadway) located in the heart of the theatre district. Disney Theatrical Productions will present the eagerly anticipated North American tour of Broadway's Tony® Award-winning smash hit musical, Disney's NEWSIES. Rehearsals began on Wednesday, September 3 in New York City in preparation for the first performance on Saturday, October 11 in Schenectady, NY at Proctors. During its first year of touring in the 2014-15 season, the production will play 25 cities, over 43 weeks. The production features Dan DeLuca as 'Jack Kelly', Steve Blanchard as 'Joseph Pulitzer', Stephanie Styles as 'Katherine', Angela Grovey as 'Medda Larkin', Jacob Kemp as 'Davey', Zachary Sayle as 'Crutchie', and Vincent Crocilla and Anthony Rosenthal alternating the role of 'Les.'
