Broadway/San Diego ~ A Nederlander Presentation is excited to announce the new 2014-2015 season chock-full of top award-winning productions including fifteen Tony Awards, and four Grammy Awards for Best Musical Theater Album -and six shows currently playing on Broadway! This year's powerful season lineup will be presented at the beautiful San Diego Civic Theatre and sponsored by San Diego County Credit Union.

Four-time Tony Award winning playwright and actor Harvey Fierstein will host the sixth annual Broadway Salutes event on Tuesday, September 23rd, which is presented by The Broadway League and The Coalition of Broadway Unions and Guilds (COBUG). This public celebration honors the countless professionals who have made Broadway great. In this industry-wide celebration, theatre professionals will receive special recognition for having worked 25, 35, and 50+ years on Broadway.

September 22, 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of the beloved Broadway musical Fiddler On The Roof - music and lyrics by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, book by Joseph Stein, produced by Harold Prince and directed and choreographed by Jerome Robbins. To celebrate the classic show, THEATER TALK welcomes critic and dramaturg Alisa Solomon of the Columbia University Journalism School to discuss her new book, Wonder of Wonders: A Cultural History of Fiddler on the Roof.

September 22, 2014 marks the 50th anniversary of the beloved Broadway musical Fiddler On The Roof - music and lyrics by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick, book by Joseph Stein, produced by Harold Prince and directed and choreographed by Jerome Robbins. The American Theatre Wing announced today that its annual gala, held this past Monday evening at the Plaza Hotel, was the most successful in the organization's history, raising over $750,000 (besting the previous record, which was set in 2013, by more than $50,000). All proceeds from the evening will benefit the education and outreach programs of the American Theatre Wing, which include SpringboardNYC, the Theatre Intern Network, the National Theatre Company Grants and the Jonathan Larson Grants, and will also support free access for students, aspiring professionals, and the general public to programming on AmericanTheatreWing.org, including the long running 'Working in the Theatre' media program.

Kinky Boots has ushered in the 50th Anniversary of ASU Gammage in Tempe AZ with a righteous and literally uplifting kick in the pants of intolerance and stereotyping, featuring a star-spangled cast of characters and theatrical elements.

David Mirvish has finalized all the details and shows for his 2014-15 line-up of shows. There will be seven shows in the Mainstage Subscription Series, three in the Off-Mirvish Subscription Series and nine bonus shows not on subscription. That brings the total to a record 19 shows for the 2014-15 season.

Disney Theatrical Productions just announced full casting for the eagerly anticipated North American tour of Broadway's Tony® Award-winning smash hit musical, Disney's NEWSIES. Rehearsals began on Wednesday, September 3 in New York City in preparation for the first performance on Saturday, October 11 in Schenectady, NY at Proctors. During its first year of touring in the 2014-15 season, the production will play 25 cities, over 43 weeks.

Kinky Boots will be the first Broadway show to launch a national tour in Las Vegas, which is a dazzling fit.

The Production Company today announced additional performances in its season of Harvey Fierstein and Jerry Herman masterpiece, La Cage Aux Folles. These additional performances in the Playhouse at Arts Centre Melbourne are on November 21 and 30 and December 2 and 7.
