Rubicon Theatre of Ventura opens the company's 17th Season (The Search…) with 2 Pianos 4 Hands, written by Ted Dykstra and Richard Greenblatt. Winner of the coveted Dora Award (the Canadian equivalent of the Tony), 2 Pianos 4 Hands is a musical comedy for anyone who has ever had a dream. Directed by Thomas Frey, this hilariously funny production features two actors, two pianos and multiple characters as fifteen years of piano playing unfolds in all its glory. Stories of crazy instructors, obsessed parents, torturous recitals, and other high points of musical training are accompanied by musical selections ranging from classical to pop to jazz. Along the way, these virtuoso actors/pianists portray a dazzling range of characters and display piano wizardry featuring the music of Beethoven, Bach, Elton John, Jerry Lee Lewis and others. 2 Pianos 4 Hands opens October 18 with low-priced previews October 15 - 17. New York Theatre Barn's The Choreography Lab Continues Tonight

John Bolger, Patricia Conolly & David Schramm Join Cast of George Street Playhouse's OUTSIDE MULLINGAR

George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have completed casting for the 41-year-old Playhouse's 2014-15 Season Opener, Outside Mullingar. John Patrick Shanley's (Moonstruck, Doubt) recent Broadway hit, a nominee for the Tony Award for Best Play, will trod the boards in New Brunswick beginning October 7. Joining Ellen McLaughlin in the cast will be John Bolger, Patricia Conolly and David Schramm. Mr. Saint will helm the production, which runs through November 2. Opening night is set for Friday, October 10.

Come spend a delightful "Weekend in the Country" when A Little Night Music opens at the Old Opera House in Charles Town, WV this Friday, September 5. Directed by David Porterfield and musically directed by Alison Shafer, Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music portrays various relationships between amorous actress Desiree Armfeldt, her old flame Frrederick and her current lover, the Count Carl-Magnus. Both men are married, one to an innocent child-bride and the other to a witty wife. Desiree also has a child, currently being raised by her sharp-tongued grandmother, while Desiree is occupied touring in a traveling play. Relationships are renewed and old flames spark when all of the characters are invited to the Armfeldt estate for the weekend.
