Stars of "Submissions Only" Kate Wetherhead (Legally Blonde, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Ordinary Days) and Anne L. Nathan (Once, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Ragtime, Assassins) are teaching "How to Feel Good About Your Audition," a musical theater audition workshop on Sunday, January 25th at Studio 353.

New Brunswick's George Street Playhouse celebrates the end of another successful season on Sunday, May 3 with their Annual Gala Benefit, themed 'A Starry Night.' As part of the celebration, the Thomas H. Kean Arts Advocacy Award will be conferred upon Stephen K. Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson Health System by the former Governor himself. The first award was given to Governor Kean in 1990 and thereafter, named in his honor to pay tribute to an individual, corporation or foundation whose dedication to the arts enhances the cultural life of the citizens of New Jersey. In addition, this year the Playhouse established The Arthur Laurents Award for Distinguished Artistic Achievement, to be conferred upon an outstanding individual that reflects Mr. Laurents' high artistic standard. The recipient will be announced at a later date.

George Street Playhouse and Artistic Director David Saint have announced that a new musical, Ernest Shackleton Loves Me, will close their current season, bowing April 22 and running through May 17, 2015.

Honeymoon in Vegas, the eagerly anticipated new musical comedy with book by Blazing Saddles and Fletch writer Andrew Bergman and score by three-time Tony Award-winner Jason Robert Brown, opens tonight, January 15, at Broadway's Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street). Calvin Berger, a modern, musical comedy about a boy, a girl...and a nose, based loosely on the timeless classic Cyrano de Bergerac and set in high school, makes its area premiere in a Minneapolis Musical Theatre (MMT) production running January 23-February 15, 2015 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's New Century Theatre. With book, music and lyrics by the award-winning Barry Wyner, Calvin Berger is directed by Joshua James Campbell working with MMT's new artistic director, Christian Unser. Local actor Gregory Adam stars as Calvin, returning to MMT after his scene-stealing turn as the sexy and conniving Raoul in the recent production of Eating Raoul.

Playwrights Theatre's roundtable reading series FORUM will present "Soundings" at Fairleigh Dickinson University, The Barn Theatre, 285 Madison Avenue, Madison. Readings will begin promptly at 7:00pm each evening, January 12 - January 25, 2015 (no reading on January 20, 2015).

The much anticipated Disney adaptation of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's INTO THE WOODS stays relatively true to the original musical but does omit some songs and modifies some of the plotlines.

Producers Scott Landis and Philip Morgaman have confirmed that 4-time Grammy Award winner Renee Fleming will make her Broadway debut this spring in the new comedy Living on Love by two-time Tony Award winner Joe DiPietro, based on the play Peccadillo by Garson Kanin, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall. The production begins performances on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 and will open on Monday, April 20, 2015 at the Longacre Theatre (220 West 48th Street). Living on Love will play an 18-week engagement through Sunday, August 2, 2015.Tickets go on sale to the general public on Monday, December 29, 2014.

The Muny announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for the Muny's 2015 Season, which opens on June 15 with My Fair Lady. Last night, Dr. Ruth Westheimer attended the performance of John Markus and Mark St. Germain's 'The Fabulous Lipitones,' on stage at George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, and visited with the cast backstage following the performance.
