American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Sacred Fools Theatre and More Among Hollywood Arts Council's 2015 Charlie Award Winners

Industry leaders who made significant contributions to the arts and culture of Hollywood were named recipients of the Hollywood Arts Council 29th Annual Charlie Awards. The awards ceremony, a fundraiser that supports arts programs for underserved children in the Hollywood area, will be held tonight, May 1 at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. Honorees include Technicolor, Sunset Sound & Sound Factory, Roschen Van Cleve Architects, Emerson College Los Angeles, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Michael Kohn Gallery and Sacred Fools Theatre.

In follow-up to its 2013 critically-acclaimed LA/west coast premiere, Women Are Crazy Because Men Are A**holes returned November 14, 2014 to Los Angeles for one last engagement at West Hollywood's Macha Theatre where it was originally set for performances through December 14. But today, Producer/Director/Writer Brad T. Gottfred greenlighted the show's extension by an additional two months due to advance ticket sales and an outcry for additional performances. Today, the Nederlander Organization and Hollywood Pantages Theatre announced the nominees for the 3rd Annual JERRY HERMAN AWARDS, a celebration of the achievement and excellence in high school musical theatre in Los Angeles. The annual awards show will be hosted by KABC-7 Reporter George Pennacchio at the Hollywood Pantages on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at 7pm.

The Hollywood Arts Council presented their 28th Annual Charlie Awards Luncheon in theBlossom Room of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, home of the first Academy Awards ceremony, at a Sold Out event on Friday, April 25, 2014. Shauna McClure, Executive Director of the Hollywood Arts Council said: "This was the record breaking year of all time in the Hollywood Arts Council's 36-year history. We raised $110,000 at this year's luncheon. Our Online Auction is still open atwww.biddingforgood.com/hollywoodartscouncil. The auction items include one-of-a-kind items, tickets to shows, art and the like. Bidding will close at 12-Midnight on Wednesday, April 30, 2014."

Broadway Icon and nine time TONY Award winner, Tommy Tune, hosted The Actors Fund's 17th Annual Tony Awards Viewing Party at the Taglyan Cultural Complex on Sunday, June 9th, 2013. Produced and written by David Rambo and directed by Luke Yankee, the event featured the only approved live TONY Award feed direct from New York to California, allowing guests of the Actors Fund to view the awards before the rest of West Coast viewed the delayed broadcast.
