Recipient of the Mark Twain Award for Comic Playwriting from the Kennedy Center, the show has garnered a 'TOP TEN" spot from Stage Raw critics and is now 'Ovation Recommended."

Recipient of the Mark Twain Award for Comic Playwriting from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, Louisa Hill's play opens in Los Angeles on April 8, 2017 at the Skylight Theatre Company. The roots of reproductive justice are unearthed in this poetically raw play by Louisa Hill. Knocked up as a teenager, Dee finally meets the baby she gave up for adoption. Only thing is, the baby is now 25, really into death metal, and wants nothing to do with her.

Skylight Theatre Company, recognized for their unwavering commitment to developing new works, has confirmed a 2017 lineup of four plays, new to Los Angeles. Works include plays from Luis Alfaro, Inda Craig-Galvan, Louisa Hill, and Queerwise.

Members of L.A.'s 'PRO-99' theater community continue to gather signatures to demand a new referendum on Actors' Equity's 99-Seat Theater Plan, which is scheduled to end today.

In response to a court decision on Thursday, Dec. 8 dismissing their lawsuit against Actors' Equity Association, the Plaintiffs announced that they will continue to fight for the survival of the 99-seat theater system.

Skylight Theatre's Artistic Director Gary Grossman will be honored at Skylight's SALUTE 2016 December 4 at the Colony Theatre in Burbank. Gary has been the driving common denominator of the Skylight Theatre Company and its previous incarnations: the Katselas Theatre company and the Camelot Artists Productions before.

The purpose of the meeting is to examine the real-life consequences on LA's cultural ecosystem when Actors' Equity Association's new plan (which will eliminate the 99-Seat Plan) is put into place on December 14, 2016.

Playwright Jason Odell Williams' latest theatrical project CHURCH & STATE opens July 2 at the Skylight Theatre as the first part of its National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere. Later to also open at JCC CenterStage (Rochester, NY) and New Jersey Rep (Long Branch, NJ) in their 2016-17 seasons.

Ed Asner, winner of seven EMMY Awards with 20 nominations and five Golden Globes, will star in the staged reading of Walter Bagot's third play, Elevator Music, at the Skylight Theatre. An entertainment icon, Broadway performer, and Television Academy "Hall of Famer," Asner will be sharing the stage with theatre veteran Rob Nagle (recently Rogue Machine's Pocatello, Antaeus, Troubadour, Denver Center, and Arena Stage).

This marks Jesse's first produced work. The collaboration between the two companies is a longtime in planning. Both companies pride themselves on nurturing and developing new works.
