Plans for the highly anticipated Broadway 4D have been scratched, as those behind the project were unable to raise the $80 million necessary to complete major renovations to 42nd Street's historic Times Square Theater

Oracle Productions has announced the Midwest premiere of Morwyn Brebner's adaptation of THE PRESIDENT by Ferenc Molnar. Artistic Director Max Truax directs this classic farce about the corruptive powers of capitalism. THE PRESIDENT opens tonight, April 12, 2014, and runs through May 31, 2014 at Oracle Theatre (3809 N. Broadway in Chicago). Performances are Friday, Today and Monday nights at 8PM; Sundays at 7PM. Press are invited to attend on April 12 - or any night during the run.

The Pasadena Playhouse announced today that its productions of TWIST - AN AMERICAN MUSICAL (seven nominations) and BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY (five nominations, tied with CTG's Fela!) are lead contenders for the 2012 NAACP Theatre Awards. Broadway 4D Theaters, LLC today announced it has entered into a long term lease for the Times Square Theater with The New 42nd Street, Inc., the nonprofit cultural organization responsible for the reinvention of seven of the block's historic theaters including the Times Square Theater, located at 217 West 42nd Street. Plans are underway for a full and classic restoration to return the theater to its historic glory, bringing the last of the original historic Broadway theaters located on 42nd Street back to life. The developers are creating Broadway Sensation - A 4D Musical Spectacular, which includes a 3D film enhanced show with in-theater special effects, to celebrate the Broadway Musical with the latest theater and 4D film technology. The theater is currently scheduled to open in the late spring or early summer of 2013.
