Michael Weber, artistic director of Porchlight Music Theatre, has announced Porchlight Music Theatre's 2017 - 2018 mainstage season.

Asolo Rep will host Inside Asolo Rep: BORN YESTERDAY and THE LITTLE FOXES today, February 23 at 11am, with refreshments at 10am. This special behind-the-scenes panel will spotlight Asolo Rep's productions of Garson Kanin's classic American comedy BORN YESTERDAY (February 8 - April 15) and Lillian Hellman's gripping drama THE LITTLE FOXES  (March 15 - April 15).  The panel will feature BORN YESTERDAY director Peter Amster, THE LITTLE FOXES director and two-time Tony® winner Frank Galati, Tracy Michelle Arnold (Regina Giddens, THE LITTLE FOXES), and Christina DeCicco (Billie Dawn, BORN YESTERDAY). This insightful discussion will be helmed by Asolo Rep Dramaturg and Casting Associate Lauryn E. Sasso. 

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDC Foundation), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), announces Robert Greenblatt, Golden Globe and Tony Award-winning producer and Chairman of NBC Entertainment (The Wiz LIVE! and Hairpsray LIVE!), and John Stamos, star of stage and screen (Full House), as honorary co-chairs, and Neil Meron and Craig Zadan of Storyline Entertainment - Zadan/Meron Productions (Chicago, Hairpsray LIVE!) as co-chairs of the 2017 'Mr. Abbott' Award Gala honoring Kenny Leon.

In its 58th season, the enchanting Asolo Repertory Theatre hit the ball out of the park with its staging of Born Yesterday. Many will remember the 1950 film version staring Broderick Crawford as Harry Brock, the controlling, corrupt business tycoon, playing sugar daddy to love interest Billie Dawn, portrayed by Judy Holliday. Miss Holliday was honored with an Academy Award for Best Actress, reprising her role from the 1946 Broadway production by Garson Kanin.

The winter rep season began on January 13 with THE GREAT SOCIETY, Robert Schenkkan's thrilling depiction of LBJ's divisive presidency. On Inauguration Day, January 20, the theatre opened THE ORIGINALIST, John Strand's remarkably timely play about Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and the search for the political middle. BORN YESTERDAY, Garson Kanin's beloved classic comedy about a not-so-dumb blonde's journey into Washington high society, opens February 10 - officially kicking off The Washington Trilogy: Three Hot Shows - One Blazing City.

Ocean State Theatre Company (OSTC), currently celebrating its fifth season in its comfortable stadium-style theatre in Warwick will present Garson Kanin's witty political comedy, Born Yesterday. This classic Pygmalion story, with furnishings provided by OSTC's 'Partner in Design,' Ethan Allen, runs at Ocean State Theatre now through February 12. The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents song-and-dance standards from the golden age of Hollywood musicals in a Valentine's-weekend pops program, February 10-12 in Red Bank, Newark and New Brunswick. Broadway veterans Joan Hess and Kirby Ward join the Orchestra and guest conductor Gemma New, performing classics inspired by Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly and Eleanor Powell.

The Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDC Foundation), the not-for-profit foundation of Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), announces that acclaimed Director Kenny Leon will be honored with the distinguished 2016-2017 'Mr. Abbott' Award for the outstanding artistry and creativity of his forty-year (and counting) career.

Asolo Repertory Theatre will proudly partner with the Charles and Margery Barancik Foundation to support several key components of the theatre's 2016-17 season and its relationship with the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. The Barancik Foundation's $100,000 grant will support Asolo Rep's highly anticipated mainstage season, its Youth Access to the Arts student matinee series, the 2016 Shakespeare Tour of The Tragedy of Hamlet, which will reach 14,000 students and patrons throughout the state of Florida, and more. 

The Edge Theater presents 'Marie Antoinette' October 14 through November 13 at 1560 Teller Street in Lakewood.  Performances are Fridays, Todays at 8 p.m.; Sundays at 6 p.m. No Show on Sunday, October 30 to make way for the Industry Night & Halloween Party on Monday, October 31@ 8 p.m.
