The Edge Theater presents ""Marie Antoinette" October 14 through November 13 at 1560 Teller Street in Lakewood. Performances are Fridays, Saturdays at 8 p.m.; Sundays at 6 p.m. No Show on Sunday, October 30 to make way for the Industry Night & Halloween Party on Monday, October 31@ 8 p.m.

In David Adjmi's contemporary take on the young queen of France, Marie is a confection created by a society that values extravagance and artifice. But France's love affair with the royals sours as revolution brews, and for Marie, the political suddenly becomes very personal. "Marie Antoinette" holds a mirror up to our contemporary society that might just be entertaining itself to death.
The award-winning cast includes Missy Moore (Marie), Christian Mast (Louis XVI), Jihad Milhem (Joseph), Brian Landis Folkins (Axel Fersen), Rachel Bouchard (Yolande de Polignac), Samara Bridwell (Therese de Lamballe), Ben Feldman (Dauphin) and Ryan Goold (Sheep).
David Adjmi was called "virtuosic" by the New York Times, one of the "best and most original theatre artists of a generation" by Vogue, and one of the Top Ten in Culture by The New Yorker magazine.
David was awarded a Mellon Foundation Playwrights Residency, the Guggenheim Fellowship, the Whiting Writers' Award, the Kesselring Prize for Drama, the Steinberg Playwright Award (the "Mimi"), McKnight and Jerome fellowships, the Helen Merrill Award, the Marian Seldes-Garson Kanin Fellowship, the Fadiman Prize and the Bush Artists Fellowship, among others. Other plays include Elective Affinites, 3C, Stunning, The Evildoers, Caligula and Strange Attractors.
