Virginia's Tony Award-winning Signature Theatre, through its groundbreaking American Musical Voices Project (AMVP), announces the world premiere of the musical comedy And the Curtain Rises (formerly known as Wheatley's Folly). Beginning performances on Thursday, March 17, 2011, And the Curtain Rises marks the third production presented as part of Signature's AMVP, the largest commissioning program for new musicals in the country, following Michael John LaChiusa's Giant in 2009 and Ricky Ian Gordon's Sycamore Trees last year. The Washington Post has said that 'Signature's AMVP is the most ambitious embrace of new musical theater in the DC region.'

David Bedella will continue his run of devilish West End starring roles by playing unscrupulous lawyer ‘Billy Flynn' in the smash-hit West End show 'CHICAGO' at the Cambridge Theatre, with his first performance on Monday 28 February. His previous West End roles include creating the character of ‘Satan' in the notorious 'Jerry Springer the Opera', for which he won the 2004 Olivier Award for ‘Best Actor in a Musical', crazed scientist ‘Dr Frank-N-Furter' in 'The Rocky Horror Show' and KGB agent ‘Alexander Molokov' in 'Chess' at the Royal Albert Hall. His film credits include Oliver Stone's 'Alexander' with Anthony Hopkins and 'Batman Begins' with Christian Bale. He will play the role for 10 weeks only until 8 May.

Civic Theatre of Allentown will hold auditions for its May 2011 production of Kander & Ebb's iconic musical 'Cabaret' at 7 pm on Monday, February 28, 2011. Auditions will be in the rehearsal hall above Civic's Nineteenth Street Theatre at 527 N 19th Street in Allentown. If necessary, callbacks will be held on Tuesday, February 29, 2011. The Boca Raton Theatre Guild will continue its extremely successful season with John Kander and Fred Ebb's classic musical, Cabaret.
