As BroadwayWorld reported last night, Oscar nominee Michelle Williams will star for the first time on Broadway as 'Sally Bowles' in Roundabout Theater Company's upcoming production of Cabaret. She will take the stage alongside Alan Cumming as the Emcee at Studio 54 in 2014, co-directed by Sam Mendes and Rob Marshall. The New York Times reports that Oscar nominee Michelle Williams will star for the first time on Broadway as 'Sally Bowles' in Roundabout Theater Company's upcoming production of Cabaret. triangle productions! kicks off its 24th season with the Oregon premiere of the seven-time Tony Award winning musical based on Manuel Puig's novel of the same name, KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN. The show runs September 5-29.

Today in 1977, Chicago closed at the 46th Street Theatre (now the Richard Rodgers Theatre), where it ran for 936 performances. Chicago is a musical set in Prohibition-era Chicago, with music is by John Kander with lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Ebb and Bob Fosse. Chicago's 1996 Broadway revival holds the record for the longest-running musical revival on Broadway and is its fourth longest-running show.
