Central Works 2019 Season of 4 world premiere plays begins February 16 and runs through November 24, 2019. Wonderland, a Kafka-esque comedy by Gary Graves, launches the 29th season opening on Saturday Feb 16 at 7pm and running through March 17 (Previews Feb 14 & 15 at 8pm).
Cal Rep CSULB Theatre Arts Announces Spring 2019 Season

Artistic Director and Chair of the CSULB Theatre Arts Department Jeff Janisheski continues his 3rd season strengthening partnerships with artists in our community. This season features artists from across the creative spectrum: Welcoming professional directors such has Ovation-nominated Kari Hayter and Bootleg Theater co-founder Jessica Hanna, and Bruce A Lemon Jr., Artistic Director of Watts Village Theater. Jeff Janisheski says, "Cal Rep's spring season celebrates community: those that are already in our orbit, the new voices we champion, and the community partners and artists we want to work with."
Infinitheatre's KAFKA'S APE Starring Howard Rosenstein Will Embark on Tour

Infinitheatre's is taking its critically acclaimed Kafka's Ape on tour, with performances in the Montreal area, Morin Heights and John Abbott College, before heading to Beijing and Tokyo in April. Powerhouse Howard Rosenstein is riveting in adaptor/director Guy Sprung's captivating play. This mesmerizing production plays February 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 27 and will be performed in both English and in French. A number of free performances are available as part of Le Conseil des arts de Montreal en tournee program. (see various times and venues below)

Playwright/director Elia Schneider--born in Israel, raised in Venezuela and now an American citizen--is known for hauntingly visual productions that transcend language with strong imagery and a dreamlike fresco of movement and design. Her newest work, 'Citizens of the Gray or the Dark Thing that Sleeps Inside Me,' deals with the war of the sexes in the age of the #MeToo Movement. Hitherto, her theatrical productions have mostly emerged from ideas derived from Kafka. Now she is channeling Strindberg for a new work of ensemble creation with her Teatro Dramma. Theater for the New City will present the world premiere of the piece November 9 to 25. It will be Schneider's Theater for the New City debut.
Cast Announced For Olivier Award-Winner Giles Terera's Workshop Performance of THE MEANING OF ZONG

Hamilton's Olivier Award-winning actor Giles Terera will present his new play The Meaning of Zong on Bristol Old Vic's stage this Thursday (11 Oct) for a one-night-only workshop performance. The piece examines the massacre aboard the slave ship Zong in 1781 and the repercussions of these events, which influenced the growing abolition movement in the UK. This rehearsed reading will be followed by a free post-show talk with Giles Terera, Tom Morris and the cast.

Coyote StageWorks, the Coachella Valley-based award-winning Actors' Equity professional theater company, will open its Tenth Anniversary season with a production of "The Understudy" by Theresa Rebeck, who created the hit television series "SMASH." The show, a hilarious comedy about life in the theater, will star Alex Best, Robin McAlpine, and David Youse and run for nine performances from November 2 - 11, 2018. Portland Opera Announces 2018/19 Season

Portland Opera is pleased to announce programming for the company's 55th season, scheduled to begin in November 2018. The season will launch with the recently announced "November classic" - Verdi's heartbreaking romance La Traviata - bringing opera back to Portland in the fall months. In March, Portland Opera will present Laura Kaminsky's brave and beautiful coming-of-age story, As One, where two voices, a mezzo-soprano and a baritone, share the role of the transgender heroine Hannah. The season will continue in the spring with the company's annual Big Night concert and a bright and vibrant production of Rossini's great Il Barbiere di Siviglia. In July, the company will present Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera for the first time, followed by the company premiere of Philip Glass's exploration of the nature of justice, In the Penal Colony, based on Franz Kafka's short story.
