The newly restored Tavern on the Green, located in Central Park just west of the Sheep Meadow near 67th Street, just celebrated its historic re-opening last night, May 12. The new Tavern on the Green, with executive chef Katy Sparks at the helm, serves Contemporary American cuisine with global influences offering a new take on a Park dining establishment serving all New Yorkers and visitors to Central Park. The Emmy and Golden Globe nominated star Fran Drescher ('The Nanny') will extend her engagement an additional three weeks until June 29 in Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA on Broadway, it has been announced by the Tony Award-winning musical's producers Robyn Goodman, Jill Furman and Stephen Kocis. Ms. Drescher - making her Broadway debut this season as Cinderella's wicked stepmother - joined the production in February and, while an extension through June 8 was previously announced, it has been determined anew that Ms. Drescher will remain with the CINDERELLA company through June 29.

As part of TODAY's 'Best of Broadway' series the cast of CINDERELLA performed the song '10 Minutes Ago' from the production.

Highlights of the 28th Annual Easter Bonnet Competition, which raised a grand total of $4,532,129 this year, included the riotous opening number starring Book of Mormon's Rory O'Malley, performances from 12 Broadway and Off Broadway companies, as well as a special presentation from the National Touring companies, and performances by the companies of After Midnight, Avenue Q, Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella, Disaster!, If/Then, Kinky Boots, The Lion King, Mamma Mia! Eligibility and award category designations for the productions under consideration this season were determined by the Drama Desk board of directors with recommendations from the nominating committee. Because of the abundance of great work throughout the season, the Board also authorized the increase in the number of nominees allowed in select categories.

Earlier today, Drama Desk winners Donna Murphy and Brian d'Arcy James announced nominations for the 57th Annual Drama Desk Awards.
