Renowned in the region for their productions of gay-themed works, Mauckingbird Theatre Company closes their 2014 season with two weeks of special events celebrating classic LGBT works and a Mauckingbird-style original, today, August 29 - September 7 in the Randall Theater on the campus of Temple University.

The York Theatre Company, and its acclaimed Developmental Reading Series, present the New York premiere of three new musicals: Mark Felt, Superstar with book, music and lyrics by Joshua Rosenblum; Paris Through the Window, with book & lyrics by Charles Osborne and music by Leo Hurley; and We Foxes with book, lyrics and music by Ryan Scott Oliver at The York Theatre Company at Saint Peter's (Entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). The readings are open to the public with a suggested donation of $5.00.

Wild with Happy is the joyous new comedy by Tony nominee Colman Domingo that is currently kicking off summer and the end of Season 51 at Center Stage. Now playing through June 29, the production is earning strong reviews from critics and audiences. Ten Chimneys Foundation has announced the ten actors who will participate in the 2014 Lunt-Fontanne Fellowship Program, a widely acclaimed national program to serve the future of American theatre. July 13-20, the Lunt-Fontanne Fellows will join Master Teacher David Hyde Pierce for an intensive, weeklong master class and immersion experience at Ten Chimneys, the National Historic Landmark estate of theatre legends Alfred Lunt and Lynn Fontanne in Genesee Depot, Wisconsin.

Leading the cast is Forrest McClendon as the grief-stricken Gil, a young man dealing with both heartbreak and his mother's death. Mr. McClendon has appeared in numerous regional productions, and was a Tony Award nominee for his role in The Scottsboro Boys, opposite playwright Colman Domingo.

Norm Lewis - the Tony Award nominated leading man who will soon make history as the first African-American Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway- will play the title role in a special industry reading of Mandela: A New Musical with book, music and lyrics by Steven M. Fisher on Monday, March 31 at 3:00 PM. It will be directed by David Glenn Armstrong with Music Direction by Micah Young.

Lantern Theater Company, critically acclaimed in Philadelphia for their annual Shakespearean offering, presents The Tragedy of Julius Caesar as the highlight of their 20th season. Directed by the Lantern's Artistic Director Charles McMahon and starring Tony Award-nominated actor Forrest McClendon in the title role, the Lantern's production is inspired by the warrior ethos of feudal Japan, calling into question the rights of the ruler against the rights of his people. Performances run tonight, February 6 - March 16, 2014.

This season, Theatre Horizon has introduced audiences to celebrated works of theatre that spark dialogue about race with its Diverse Voices Reading Series. This series will close Monday, January 27 with a free reading of Suzan-Lori Parks' Pulitzer Finalist, In The Blood.
