Lincoln Center Theater production of Jon Robin Baitz' OTHER DESERT CITIES, directed by Joe Mantello, opened last night, (January 13) at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. Naked Angels will celebrate its 25th Anniversary as one of the most innovative theatre companies in New York with a spectacular Gala at Roseland Ballroom (239 West 52nd Street). Naked Angels company members Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are Honorary Co-Chairs for the event. Conceived as an imagined history of Naked Angels - and promising to be bigger than all of the company's previous parties put together - One Big Ball will be a frivolous and inauthentic romp through Naked Angels' 25 years, written and performed by Naked Angels members, with many friends and surprise guests. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences will kick off its 29th annual 'Contemporary Documentaries' screening series with last year's Oscar-winning feature 'The Cove' and Oscar-nominated short 'China's Unnatural Disaster: The Tears of Sichuan Province' on Wednesday, September 22, at 7 p.m. at the Linwood Dunn Theater in Hollywood. Admission to all screenings in the series is free.

Composer and writer BEN LEAR will perform his new folk opera, Lillian: A Folk Opera with the multi-media art group Aytia/Matia at Le Poisson Rouge (158 Bleeker Street) on Friday, May 21. The multimedia concert experience with projected video-art, sequenced lighting and costumes features a fifteen-piece band and additional under water footage by Fisher Stevens, Oscar winning producer of 'The Cove.'
