The producers of the smash Broadway musical Waitress announced today that Shoshana Bean will take over the role of Jenna on March 18 and will be in the show through May 12, 2019.

1812 Productions kicks off 2019 with a red curtain comedy revue Broads, curated by Jennifer Childs and starring Joilet Harris, Mary Elizabeth Scallen, and Jess Conda. From Mae West to Moms Mabley and more, Broads features classic and original material and celebrates the bawdiest, brashest, and funniest ladies from the 1920s through the 1960s. Broads will play for 10 performances only from February 13 thru February 24, 2019. Tickets are $35. Press Opening will be Thursday, February 14 at 8:00.

Soul to Soul, the electrifying and emotionally-captivating theatrical concert that explores the parallels of African American and Jewish history takes the stage this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Rising NYC actress Paula Shtein returns to Columbus to star in the semi-biographical story of beloved comedienne and Broadway star Fanny Brice. As she waits for her husband to return from prison, the star of Ziegfeld Follies reflects on her life and her rise to fame. This hit musical is full of Broadway classics such as "Don't Rain on My Parade," "People," and "Sadie, Sadie, Married Lady," that will be sure to stick in your head. On Sunday, November 18th, Feinstein's/54 Below celebrated the popular and prolific summer camp, French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts.

The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance, a program within the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts at Wayne State University, is thrilled to kick off our year-long 90 Years of Dance at Wayne celebration with the annual December Dance Concert, December 7 and 8 at Detroit's Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts.  This year's show promises diverse and moving works showcasing highlights of dance through the decades. Dance students have the pleasure of working with a variety of talented artists, including invited guests, esteemed faculty, and talented student choreographers.

Tony Award nominee Lainie Kazan and Emmy Award winner William Shatner, whose Broadway stage careers have spanned six decades, reveal personal stories of their Jewish upbringing in the new PBS special Hanukkah: A Festival of deLights. With the holiday season fast approaching Arena Stage is readying their annual Gold Standard Musical. This year it's the classic ship shape Cole Porter musical from 1934, Anything Goes. The production begins performances on November 2nd and plays through December 23rd in the Fichandler space.
