Barbara Morrison, the critically acclaimed and popular Jazz & Blues singer, will return By Popular Demand to Catalina Bar & Grill, 6725 West Sunset Boulevard (just east of North Highland Avenue); Los Angeles, Calif., reprising her popular critically acclaimed signature show, "A Tribute To Dinah Washington - Queen of the Blues" accompanied by the Barbara Morrison Performing Arts Center All Star Big Band conducted by John Stephens for one show only tonight, November 24, 2012 at 8:30 p.m.

Now it's time for all you cabaret performers and fans to vote for the best singers, musicians and shows of the year. Broadway's 13-year-old star Carly Rose Sonenclar performed Etta James' 'Something's Got a Hold on Me' on last night's (October 31st) episode of 'The X Factor'. Judges Demi Lovato and L.A. There may have been 40 cabaret performers strutting their stuff this past week at the 23rd New York Cabaret Convention at the Rose Theater at Lincoln Center, but the true star of the three-night extravaganza (October 17-19) was the late Donald Smith, the cabaret impresario and guru to the genre's luminaries, who died this past March at 79. Sponsored by the Mabel Mercer Foundation, which Smith founded in 1985, this year's Convention featured numerous homages to Smith from the performers, many of whom had their career's supported and advanced with the help of the colorful and beloved cabaret producer and promoter. Early in Wednesday's Gala Opening Night show, the 'first lady of the American keyboard' Barbara Carroll called her friend Donald Smith 'the quintessential New Yorker,' and when Mark Nadler closed night one with George and Ira Gershwin's 'Our Love Is Here to Stay,' he said, 'Everybody who cares about the myths of these songs are in this room tonight.' Well, it was clear that anyone who cared about Donald Smith was at the Rose Theater for at least one of the three shows.

Now running at Arena Stage through November 4, ONE NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN is a living, breathing collage of musical theatre, time capsule, and reunion concert with the late Janis Joplin. Performer Mary Bridget Davies was born to play Janis Joplin and Johnson has given her the perfect vehicle for her talents.

Fresh off its acclaimed run at the Cleveland Play House, One Night with Janis Joplin will take D.C. audiences on a musical journey into the life and inspirations of one of rock 'n' roll's greatest legends. The production is led by Cleveland native Mary Bridget Davies, who performs with Joplin's original band Big Brother and the Holding Company, and also features Sabrina Elayne Carten as the Blues Singer who pays homage to the artists that influenced Joplin's incomparable blues-rock blend. Created, written and directed by Randy Johnson, the production is produced in partnership with Cleveland Play House in association with Todd Gershwin and Daniel Chilewich of Premiere Media, with support from The Estate of Janis Joplin and Jeff Jampol of JAM, Inc. The 2012-2013 Concerts from the Library of Congress season offers a packed lineup of 40 concerts, lectures, film screenings, master classes and workshops, all celebrating the rich tapestry of the nation's musical heritage. Concerts kick off tonight, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m., with a performance by the Moscow Sretensky Monastery Choir.

Award-winning blues rock star, guitar hero and singer-songwriter Joe Bonamassa will perform at the Fox Theatre on Saturday, November 3 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $62 and are on sale now through MetroTix. The one-night-only show is in support of his brand new solo album Driving Towards The Daylight, which made its debut at #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart, the eighth time a Bonamassa album has debuted at #1.

Dance New Amsterdam (DNA) will showcase six emerging dance-makers in its RAW Material series, an annual program which supports the work of budding choreographers who have shown promise to affect the field of dance. This year's performances, tonight, October 4 and tomorrow, October 5, feature a broad spectrum of dance, with world premiere works by Tough Cookie Dance/Michael Philip Richman and Josselyn Levinson-Dustin, Ashley Brown, Hadley Smith, Kellie Lynch & Tara Lee Burns, Anna Marie Shogren, and Abby Zbikowski|the new utility. All artists worked with Bessie Award-winning choreographer Yanira Castro to prepare for the production. Both shows are at 7:30 p.m.

After the successful launch of her show to two packed houses in June, Billie Williams is returning to the Metropolitan Room for an encore engagement of her cabaret show “Fade to Blues' on Sunday, October 14 at 9:30 pm. This show highlights Billie's rich and evocative vocals as she wraps them around classic songs made famous by Ruth Brown, Etta James, Peggy Lee, Sippi Wallace, and Ray Charles. Musical Direction is by Michael Roberts, who recently co-produced and wrote music and lyrics for the Off-Broadway shows Golf and The Fartiste.
