Wilbury Theatre Group Announces AFTER ORLAND 11/1

The Wilbury Group, in association with TAPS at Brown, announces After Orlando, a staged-reading of new plays from noted international playwrights in response the shooting at Pulse Nightclub, presented Tuesday November 1, 2016 at 8pm in Studio 1 in the Granoff Center for the Arts at Brown University.

Politics in Play will commence with After Orlando: an international theatre action, in response to the Pulse Nightclub shooting, on October 17, 2016; Mike Daisey's The Trump Card (Diana Wyenn, Director) on October 23, 2016; and Christopher Chen's Mutt: Let's All Talk About Race! (Rodney To, Director) on November 1, 2016.

The annual Playwrights for a Cause will be Sunday, July 24th at 7:30 pm at the Atlantic Theatre (Linda Gross Theater), 336 West 20th Street, NYC 10011. Founded and curated by Glory Kadigan, Playwrights for a Cause is the annual benefit hosted by Planet Connections Theatre Festivity. This year the event will benefit this important group - New Yorkers Against Gun Violence.

Playwrights' Center Announces 2016-17 McKnight Fellows, New Core Writers

Following last month's announcement of the incoming Jerome and Many Voices Fellows, the Playwrights' Center is pleased to introduce the 2016-17 McKnight National Residency and Commission recipient, two 2016-17 McKnight Fellows in Playwriting, six new Core Writers and three 2016-17 Core Apprentices. McKnight Theater Artist Fellows will be announced in June.

Kim Davies' STET to Open Off-Broadway at Abingdon Theatre Company in June

Abingdon Theatre Company, in association with The Muse Project, will present STET, a new play inspired by true events, written by Kim Davies and developed by Kim Davies, Jocelyn Kuritsky and Artistic Director Tony Speciale. A limited Off-Broadway engagement will begin previews on June 11, as part of Abingdon's 2015-2016 Season, with an official press opening scheduled for June 23. Tickets are now on sale through July 3. Tony Speciale is set to direct the world-premiere production, which marks his inaugural programming as Artistic Director.

The New Group has announced additional guests for post-show talkbacks at The Sensuality Party, with playwrights Thomas Bradshaw (Burning, Intimacy) and Erika Sheffer (Russian Transport) joining in the conversation at Brooklyn College following the 7:00pm performances on May 2 and May 3, respectively, and Wallace Shawn (Aunt Dan and Lemon, The Fever, Marie and Bruce) joining at LaGuardia Community College following the 2:30pm performance on May 11.

The New Group proudly presents The Sensuality Party as part of its 2015-2016 season. HOME is a live art installation that unravels the question of 'what is home?' created by artist-collaborators John Moletress and Eames Armstrong. Images of home constructed from child's toys, clothing and musical instruments are rendered unstable, destroyed and reconstructed in unfamiliar forms by the performers. This 5 hour durational performance will take place in the front windows of Atlas Performing Arts Center today, March 5, 4:00-9:00p. This event is presented as part of INTERSECTIONS FESTIVAL 2016.
