force/collision announces its current performance project, Jarman (all this maddening beauty) will be livestreamed on HowlRound TV on April 20th at 4:00pm. Inspired by queer avant-garde artist, activist and filmmaker, Jarman (all this maddening beauty) invades the mind and artistic aesthetic of Derek Jarman (The Last of England, Sebastiane, The Tempest) to create a poetic and visually dynamic mash-up of video and live performance. This project will premiere in 2014 to coincide with the 20th anniversary of Jarman's death.

The 2014 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity Gala 'One Acts for a Cause' is set to take place on Sunday, June 22 at 7:30pm at the East 13th Street Theater (136 East 13th Street). The evening, which will benefit the non-profit NYC food services agency City Harvest, will showcase world premiere one-act plays by four acclaimed playwrights: Obie Award-winner Israel Horovitz (Line, The Indian Wants the Bronx), Erik Ehn (13 Saints, Soulographie: Our Genocides at La MaMa; currently head of playwriting and professor of theatre and performance studies at Brown University), Wendy MacLeod (The House of Yes, Juvenilia and The Water Children which both premiered at Playwrights Horizons, and Things Being What They Are, which premiered at Seattle Repertory Theatre and had an extended run at Steppenwolf), and Winter Miller (In Darfur which premiered at The Public Theater; The Penetration Play produced by 13p). When they were still aspiring young artists Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Ayad Akhtar, TV star Josh Radnor, and two-time Tony Award-nominated actress Melissa Erico each spent a transformative summer in the Powerhouse Theater Training Program. Now in its thirtieth year, the renowned annual program at Vassar College will run from June 20-July 27, 2014 and is currently accepting applications. Participants choose a curriculum focused on acting, playwriting, or directing, and together form an Apprentice Company that performs works for the public. The program is available to rising high school seniors through college-age students, as part of the prestigious Powerhouse Theater collaboration between Vassar and New York Stage and Film.

Something Wicked, a new devised work utilizing the text of Shakespeare's Macbeth will play five performances at The Kraine Theater as part of the FRIGID New York Festival. Directed and adapted by Ana?s Koivisto, the evening features a cast that includes Sam Bruce, Kathryn Connors, Laura Epperson, Paul Gregg, Zachary Libresco, Lila Newman, Samuel Platizky, Ali Stoner, and Jay William Thomas. Katherine Sommer produces and Jamie Wylie serves as dramaturg.

We Are Samurai is a suburban revenge tragedy about four twenty-somethings engaging in petty acts of violence in an effort to absolve a millennia-old offense. As the piece unfolds simultaneously across four different playing spaces, it is up to the audience to choose what to witness.

Juilliard's Drama Division announces the 2013-2014 season of fully-staged productions featuring Juilliard's 43rd group of acting students in their fourth and final year in the drama program at Juilliard. This season's plays include Jeffrey Hatcher's Smash, directed by Victor Pappas; Amy Herzog's The Great God Pan, directed by Maria Mileaf; and Sam Shepard's Buried Child, directed by Daniel Fish. All performances take place in the Stephanie P. McClelland Drama Theater at Juilliard.
