Olivia Colman to Receive Desert Palm Achievement Award at Palm Springs International Film Festival

The 30th annual Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) will present Olivia Colman with the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress for The Favourite at its annual Film Awards Gala. The award will be presented by her co-star in the film Emma Stone. The Film Awards Gala, hosted by Mary Hart and Entertainment Tonight, and presented by American Express, will be held on Thursday, January 3 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The Festival runs January 3-14.

The Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA) and the Broadcast Television Journalists Association (BTJA) announced today the nominees for the 24th Annual Critics' Choice Awards. The winners will be revealed at the star-studded Critics' Choice Awards gala, broadcast live on The CW Network on Sunday, January 13, 2019 from 7:00 – 10:00 pm ET (delayed PT).

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominations for the 2019 Golden Globe Awards this morning. Terry Crews, Danai Gurira, Leslie Mann and Christian Slater will join HFPA President Meher Tatna, executive producer Barry Adelman and Isan Elba, daughter of Idris Elba and this year's Golden Globe ambassador, to make the announcement. 'Roma' triumphed with four wins when The Washington, D.C. Area Film Critics Association (WAFCA) announced their top honorees for 2018 this morning. A poignantly observed, Mexico-set period drama dedicated to director Alfonso Cuarón's real-life childhood nanny, 'Roma' won Best Film and Best Director, as well as Best Foreign Language Film and Best Cinematography for its sweeping black-and-white lensing.

Valley Youth Theatre (VYT) opens their 23rd production of A Winnie-the-Pooh Christmas Tail, this Today, November 30, at 7:30 pm, at Valley Youth Theatre. In addition to opening night, public performances include Saturdays and Sundays, December 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16 and 23 at 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm, as well as three performances on Saturday, December 22, at 11:00 am, 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm. The theatre is located at 525 North First Street, in Downtown Phoenix, and ticket prices begin at $17, when purchased as part of a 4-show package.

Pulse Films and Paramount Television to Produce Grime Biography, INNER CITY PRESSURE

Pulse Films and Paramount Television have announced today a deal to option the rights to journalist Dan Hancox's acclaimed non-fiction book Inner City Pressure for Television. The project is set to be produced by Pulse Films' Thomas Benski, Lucas Ochoa and Sam Bridger. HarperCollins published the book in May of this year.

Cast members of The Apple Boys: A Barbershop Quartet Musical are scheduled to make several high-profile appearances on October 31 as part of New York City's 45th Annual Village Halloween Parade. At 9:30 AM, The Apple Boys will appear on Fox 5 TV's 'Good Day New York,' singing an original song. At 7:45 PM, The Apple Boys will perform outside the landmarked Jefferson Market Library as Basil Twists' iconic 14-foot spider descends the clocktower.

The Independent Filmmaker Project (IFP), the nation's premier member organization of independent storytellers, announced today the nominees for the 28th Annual IFP Gotham Awards. Ten competitive awards will be presented to independent features and series. In addition to the competitive awards, Gotham Tributes will be given to actors Rachel Weisz and Willem Dafoe, director Paul Greengrass, and the Gotham Industry Tribute to Jon Kamen.
