TACT/The Actors Company Theatre (Scott Alan Evans, Cynthia Harris and Jenn Thompson, Co-Artistic Directors) today announced that it has been given a $50,000 matching grant from arts philanthropist Adrienne Arsht to be used to subsidize actors salaries for the upcoming 2012/13 season.

Founded in 1979 by its artistic director Jeffrey Horowitz, Theatre for a New Audience is a modern classical theatre that produces Shakespeare alongside other major authors in a dialogue that spans centuries. Its 33rd season, the last before moving to its first home adjacent to BAM in the new Downtown Brooklyn Cultural District, features boldly diverse works from William Shakespeare, Franz Kafka in a theatrical adaptation by Colin Teevan, Samuel Beckett and Wallace Shawn. In a co-production with The Public Theater, Mr. Shawn's plays will be part of The Wallace Shaw-Andre Gregory Project.

Being presented in London for the first time in 30 years, the King's Head Theatre presents the first ever London revival of Tennessee Williams' autobiographical play Vieux Carre, about an aspiring young writer, and the bizarre, poignant and funny characters he encounters at a New Orleans boarding house. Vieux Carre's opening night is tonight, July 13 at 7.15pm.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the staging of his first play, world-renowned playwright Edward Bond joins Lyric Hammersmith Artistic Director Sean Holmes to present The Chair Plays from April 19 to May 23. This is the first time this trilogy, drawn from his work of the last decade, has been produced in the UK.
