Tony Award-winning Trinity Repertory Company, under the leadership of The Richard L. Bready Artistic Director Curt Columbus and Executive Director Michael Gennaro, has announced its 50th Anniversary season line-up of plays. Trinity Rep's 2013-2014 season starts in September with John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath, the definitive American tale of the strength of family and the human spirit in the aftermath of the Great Depression. In November, the New England premiere of Christopher Durang's hilarious new hit comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will hit the Dowling stage, fresh off its wildly successful New York run.

The Coterie Theatre blends horrifying with humorous in the theatre's acclaimed Tell-Tale Electric Poe based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe February 23 - March 10. The concept and adaptation of this two-person show is by Jeff Church.

Blackout Theatre Company and Duke City Repertory Theatre Announce Poe Fest. Join Blackout and Duke City Rep for a festival of events celebrating of the life and works of the renowned writer Edgar Allan Poe, the inspiration for both DCRT's Poe and Blackout's The Poe Project: Merely This and Nothing More. Poe-centric activities begin the last week of January and continue through April.

American Lyric Theater presents the next installment in its popular series, The Living Libretto, at the National Opera Center, tonight, February 6th, 2013. Featuring guest actors from the Broadway and off-Broadway stage, each event is the culminating reading of extensive libretto workshops conducted for new operas currently being written by ALT Resident Artists.

The New York City Department of Parks & Recreation has announced Living in Sequence, an exhibition of comic book artwork on view at the Poe Park Visitor Center in the Bronx. The exhibition was organized by the Bronx Heroes and will be on view February 5 - March 8, 2013.

Chicago Opera Theater (COT) offers more opportunities to look inside its operas through its new initiative, Viewpoints. These collaborations with Chicago cultural institutions will draw audiences even further into the passionate world of COT's 2013 Season, "Power of Love, Love of Power."

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the world premiere of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, a new musical comedy with book by Robert L. Freedman, music by Steven Lutvak and lyrics by Freedman and Lutvak. Former Old Globe Co-Artistic Director Darko Tresnjak returns to the Globe to direct the production. Based on the novel Israel Rank by Roy Horniman, the musical also features choreography by Peggy Hickey. A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder will run March 8 - April 14, 2013 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run March 8 - March 12. Opening night is Wednesday, March 13 at 7:00 p.m. A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder is a co-production with Hartford Stage. Single tickets go on sale Sunday, Feb. 3 at 12 noon. Lawrence Edelson, Producing Artistic Director of American Lyric Theater, announced today the national expansion of the company's core initiative, The Composer Librettist Development Program (CLDP). Through the use of newly acquired HD teleconferencing technology, gifted emerging artists with an interest in writing for the opera stage will be able to participate in the CLDP, regardless of where they live in the country.
