BBC Radio 2 Olivier Audience Award Announces Shortlist; Vote Now!

The Society of London Theatre has today announced the shortlist for the BBC Radio 2 Olivier Audience Award. The public will vote for the overall winner. The shortlisted shows are BILLY ELLIOT, JERSEY BOYS, LES MISÉRABLES and WICKED.

LES MIS Movie Update: Samantha Barks Departs OLIVER! April 1

Neil Morrissey and Samantha Barks will play the roles of Fagin and Nancy from Tuesday 13 March - Sunday 1 April. Samantha Barks will head straight from OLIVER! to start filming the forthcoming Les Miserables film, which has already begun production with scenes being shot in both England and France.

The highly-anticipated film adaptation of Les Miserables will open in movie theatre in December, and according to Daily Mail, the movie will feature brand-new music by the original song writing team. Baz Bamigboye reports that Claude-Michel Schonberg, Alain Boublil and Herbert Kretzmer wrote a song called 'Suddenly' for the movie.

Legendary, Volatile Painter Mark Rothko’s Life Sparks RED At Northern Stage March 14-April 1

Northern Stage, considered one of the most prestigious and fastest-growing regional theaters in New England, presents the Tony Award winning play, Red, March 14- April 21. Red was first produced at the 250-seat Donmar Warehouse in London in December 2009, starring Alfred Molina and Eddie Redmayne. The production transferred to Broadway's John Golden Theatre, with the same cast, for a limited run, from March 11 - June 27, 2010. It picked up six Tony Awards, including Best Play, Best Direction, and Best Performance by a Featured Actor (Redmayne), as well as three Drama Desk Awards, including Best Play.

Ramin Karimloo Extends LES MIS Run Through March 31; David Shannon, Gerónimo Rauch Join Cast in Spring

Cameron Mackintosh announced today that Ramin Karimloo will extend his run playing 'Jean Valjean' in the legendary musical "LES MISÉRABLES" at the Queen's Theatre until 31 March 2012. David Shannon will then return to the role of 'Jean Valjean' from Tuesday 3 April - Saturday 16 June 2012. He will be followed by Geronimo Rauch who will play the role from Monday 18 June 2012 until Saturday 15 June 2013
