From September 8-16, BAMcinématek, the repertory film program at BAM Rose Cinemas, presents Robert Redford: Artist & Activist, a 16-film tribute to Redford's 50-year career in film. Robert Redford will be at BAM in-person to discuss his work as one of the 20th century's most celebrated actors and as an Academy-award winning director, as well as a leading environmental and social change activist, and champion of independent cinema as founder of the Sundance Institute.

Rue McClanahan to Premiere New One-Woman Show in Chicago

Emmy Award winner Rue McClanahan, whose acting career has spanned more than four decades is developing a new one-woman show reports the Chicago tribune, based on her 2007 autobiography 'My First Give Husbands.'
The show, for which McClahanan is said to have Broadway aspirations is expected to premiere in Chicago this fall.

New Village Arts (NVA) concludes its 2008-2009 season with Four Dogs and a Bone by award-winning playwright and recent Oscar-nominee John Patrick Shanley. NVA Associate Artistic Director Joshua Everett Johnson directs this brutally hysterical satire of Hollywood.
