The Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts announced the details of its 2013-2014 Season on Monday night. The RHCPA follows up its highly successful third season, Captured Moments, with a lineup guaranteed to provide something for every taste. Shows range from solo performances to ensemble plays from October 2012-May 2013.

A&B Theatricals and director Joe Bishara took on middle-class unemployment last night with local playwright, Bill Cook's original script, 'The Promised Land'. Those familiar with Cook's previous work, especially last year's, 'Love In An Age of Clamor', will find several similarities between the two productions, however this one, finds middle-aged, middle-class, Simon (Nick Baldasare) suddenly downsized from his life-long career as a financial analyst.
Broadway & Film Actor Willy Switkes Dies at 83

ABC News reports that Willy Switkes, a Broadway actor best known for his roles in the films 'Tootsie' and 'Taxi Driver' has died at age 83. According to Switkes' niece, the actor was battling colon cancer and passed away last Thursday at a hospice in Rockville, Md.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the availability of Great Moments in the Theatre by Benedict Nightingale, published by Oberon Books (London). Starting with the first performance of Aeschylus' The Oresteia in 458 BC and ending with the premiere of Jez Butterworth's Jerusalem in London of 2009 AD, former New York Times critic and chief theatre critic of the Times (London) for over 20 years, Benedict Nightingale collects in one volume what he extols as the greatest moments in theatre.
