Last night, BroadwayWorld reported that E! Online revealed that Spring Awakening's original Wendla, GLEE star Lea Michele, is being courted for her old role in the upcoming film version of the show. Now EW.com has confirmed that she is not infact in talks to star in the project. Michele told EW: 'Spring Awakening is so special to me, as is the character Wendla. We have discussed this as a possibility, and we'll see what happens.'

E! Online has just revealed that Spring Awakening's original Wendla, GLEE star Lea Michele, is being courted for her old role in the upcoming film version of the show. E! reports that the film's director, McG, told them that they're hoping the film's schedule can coincide with her GLEE committments to make this happen.

As BroadwayWorld previously announced, Gerald Goehring, Michael F. Mitri and Dorothy Berloni are developing BECAUSE OF WINN-DIXIE, a new Broadway musical based on the popular 2000 novel by Kate DeCamillo. Casting for a developmental reading is currently underway and set to take place in early March. Theater Latte Da announced today casting for the Tony Award winning musical Spring Awakening with book and lyrics by Steven Sater, music by Duncan Sheik, and based on the play by Frank Wedekind. Theater Latte Da will present Spring Awakening in partnership with the University of Minnesota's Department of Theatre Arts and Dance at the Rarig Center's Stoll Thrust Theatre April 12 - May 6, 2012.
