On Saturday, March 9 (7 pm), as part of Symphony Space's The Music of Now Series, pianist Anthony de Mare returns to the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre for the second installment of Liaisons: Reimagining Sondheim from the Piano.

Cygnet Theatre, currently halfway through their tenth anniversary season, is getting fired up about the next lineup of plays and musicals that they're preparing for their eleventh season. Cygnet Artistic Director Sean Murray and Executive Director Bill Schmidt have assembled a package of plays and musicals for the 2013-2014 season that they feel just may be their most exciting yet. Cygnet's eleventh season will feature seven productions performed in their home, the Old Town Theatre in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, including two plays performed in a rotating repertory, two musicals, two San Diego premieres and a holiday revival. 'The scripts that we have assembled all went through the 'is-this-exciting?' filter!' says Murray. 'We feel that we have put together a line-up that continues to serve our eclectic, artistic-whiplash tastes here at Cygnet. All of the stories in next season's list concern relationships, love and the challenges of making personal connections.'

Headlong will return to the Almeida Theatre following the critically acclaimed 2008 co-production of The Last Days of Judas Iscariot. The collaboration will continue in autumn 2013 with a new co-production - the World Premiere of American Psycho, with book by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and music and lyrics by Duncan Sheik, based on the novel by Bret Easton Ellis. American Psycho will be directed by Rupert Goold and produced in association with David Johnson and Jesse Singer at Act 4 Entertainment.

Executive Producer Mike Isaacson announced today the directors, choreographers and music directors for its 2013 Season, which opens on June 17 with Monty Python's Spamalot. Widely regarded as one of the most brilliant songwriters of her generation, Suzanne Vega emerged as a leading figure of the folk-music revival of the early 1980s when, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar, she sang what has been labeled contemporary folk or neo-folk songs of her own creation in Greenwich Village clubs. CAPA presents Suzanne Vega with special guest Noah Chenfeld at the Lincoln Theatre (769 E. Long St.) on Tuesday, February 19, at 8pm.

Centenary College of Louisiana has been chosen as the home of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF) Region VI for the next three years. Nearly 1,200 students and faculty representing a six-state region will congregate in Shreveport during the week-long festival this February 26-March 2 to celebrate the finest and most diverse work produced in college and university drama programs.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, today announced complete casting for the company's upcoming new production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Tony Award-winning musical PASSION, to be directed by John Doyle (director of the acclaimed Broadway revivals of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd and Company). Joining previously announced Melissa Errico (Clara), Judy Kuhn (Fosca) and Ryan Silverman (Giorgio) in the production are Stephen Bogardus (Colonel Ricci), Jeffry Denman (Lieutenant Barri), Jason Michael Evans (Private Augenti), Amy Justman (understudy), Ken Krugman (Lieutenant Torasso), Orville Mendoza (Sergeant Lombardi), Tom Nelis (Doctor Tambourri) and Will Reynolds (Major Rizzoli/Ludovic). PASSION is slated to begin performances on February 8, 2013 at CSC (136 East 13th Street), with an official press opening scheduled for Thursday, February 28, playing a limited engagement through Sunday, April 7. Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning at Noon on Thursday, January 3.
