Tonight's Performance of CSC's A MAN'S A MAN Cancelled Due to Cast Injury

This evening's performance of Classic Stage Company's production of Bertolt Brecht's A MAN'S A MAN has been cancelled due to an injury last night to cast member Bill Buell (Jeraiah Jip). Buell sustained a fractured ankle while off-stage early in the first act due to a mechanical malfunction involving a ballast weight for a garage door which is part of the show's set design. As there is no understudy for the role, the remainder of last evening's performance had to be cancelled as well as tonight's performance while a replacement actor is found. CSC hopes to resume performances tomorrow.

Rhinebeck Writers Retreat Now Accepting Applications for Summer 2014

Kathy Evans, Founding Executive Director of Rhinebeck Writers Retreat, announced that applications are open for the fourth summer of retreats for musical theatre writers. Rhinebeck Writers Retreat provides a writing team with a weeklong residency to work on their musical in a private home near Rhinebeck, New York. There will be eight one-week retreats offered between June 29 and August 31st. Applications are due February 15 and the submission fee is $20. The submitted musical can be at any stage of development, as long as it has not been published or licensed. Broadway favorite Jonathan Groff, who leads HBO's upcoming 'Looking' series,is featured on the cover of this month's OUT Magazine. He shared on filming in San Francisco: "It was the last port of call for all the guys in the Navy, and the ones who were gay just stayed there because they didn't want to go back to their lives. The street where I was staying smelled like jasmine. I rode my bike every day to set. I was in heaven."
