Carnegie Hall Education Program LinkUP! Celebrates 25th Year Anniversary 5/25-27

This May, LinkUP!-Carnegie Hall's oldest and one of its most popular education programs-celebrates its 25th anniversary with six concerts on May 25-27 in Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, presented for approximately 13,500 schoolchildren. Composer Thomas Cabaniss will host and guide the audience through the concert, entitled The Orchestra Rocks!

Bosco Awarded Purchase College Honorary Degree May 14

President Thomas J. Schwarz, will preside at the 38th Commencement ceremony at Purchase College State University of New York on Friday, May 14 at 1 PM on the West Lawn adjacent to The Performing Arts Center (735 Anderson Hill Road). Degrees will be awarded to approximately 1032 undergraduates and 55 graduate students.

American Public Media's (APM) Performance Today and the world-renowned Parker Quartet are pleased to announce the Donati String Quartet as the winners of The Parker Quartet Master Class Contest. In early 2010 Performance Today challenged aspiring classical string quartets to submit their recording to Performance Today to win a chance to study with the popular public radio program's artists in residence, the Parker Quartet.

The three-week festival - one of several initiatives launched during Alan Gilbert's first season as Music Director - will offer an in-depth look at Stravinsky, exploring how his Russian roots informed his works. Led by the Russian-born Mr. Gergiev, the festival will feature eight programs over three weeks, including concerts, lectures, pre-concert talks, radio broadcasts, podcasts and an Archives exhibit.

ABT to Perform Ratmansky's THE BRIGHT STREAM at Kennedy Center, 1/21 2011

American Ballet Theatre will stage the Company Premiere of Alexei Ratmansky's The Bright Stream on January 21, 2011 at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. The ballet will be given four performances at the Kennedy Center through January 23, 2011. ABT will also perform The Bright Stream during its Spring season at the Metropolitan Opera House, May 16-July 9, 2011.
