Omaha Performing Arts is thrilled to announce WAITRESS will play Omaha's Orpheum Theater for a limited six-day engagement December 12-17, 2017 as part of Omaha Performing Arts' 2017/2018 Broadway season.

The American Dance Festival (ADF) will present the 2018 Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival Award for lifetime achievement to acclaimed choreographer, Ronald K. Brown. Established in 1981 by Samuel H. Scripps, the annual award honors choreographers who have dedicated their lives and talent to the creation of modern dance. Celebrated dancer, choreographer, and teacher Dianne McIntyre will present the $50,000 award in a brief ceremony on Thursday, June 28th at 8:00pm, prior to the performance of Evidence, A Dance Company at Reynolds Industries Theater.

The Tony-nominated musical WAITRESS will make its Wisconsin premiere at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center Nov. 28 - Dec. 3. The production will be holding auditions to find two young girls to alternate the role of Lulu for the duration of their Fox Cities engagement. Auditions will be held at the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center today, October 11 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

WAITRESS, the Tony nominated musical will be launching its National Tour at the Connor Palace Theatre today, October 10, for a limited engagement and is looking for two young girls to perform the role of 'Lulu' during the three-week run.

I wouldn't exactly call Matt Aucoin, 27, a show-off, even though he wrote the music and libretto for THE CROSSING--his 2015 opera having its NY debut at BAM's Next Wave Festival this past week--and conducted the performance as well. (He left the subtle, fine direction to Diane Paulus, who originally mounted it at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, MA, where it was commissioned for the National Civil War Project.) But I would say he's remarkably (and justifiably) confident.

Broadway and TV star Mandy Gonzalez has released the title song from Fearless - her debut solo recording bridging pop and R&B - today, Friday, October 6.
