Broadway/San Diego ~ A Nederlander Presentation is excited to announce the new 2014-2015 season chock-full of top award-winning productions including fifteen Tony Awards, and four Grammy Awards for Best Musical Theater Album -and six shows currently playing on Broadway! This year's powerful season lineup will be presented at the beautiful San Diego Civic Theatre and sponsored by San Diego County Credit Union.

One of Broadway's brightest lights has joined forces with the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition as National Spokesperson, to play one of the most important roles of her life, and plans to win!

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will continue its three-month engagement at JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater on Sunday, February 16 at 9:30 PM with a celebration of stage and screen star Bernadette Peters. After a highly-successful run at 54 Below, the show has returned to its downtown roots for an exciting Winter/spring season. The Meeting* has been called 'delicious and delightfully droll' by The New York Post, and 'hilarious and sardonic' by The Village Voice. A recent story for Slate.com called the evening 'so deliciously icy that it left me shivering with fear and delight.' The February show will feature special guests Karen Mason, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Carole J. Bufford, Gabrielle Stravelli, Connor Donahue and Carlo Maria. Tracy Stark serves as Musical Director.

Broadway In Detroit has just announced that MOTOWN THE MUSICAL is coming home to the city where it all began. MOTOWN will play Detroit's Fisher Theatre for a four-week engagement, October 21-November 16, 2014.The hit Broadway musical features music and lyrics from the legendary Motown catalogue and a book by Berry Gordy. Ticket information, show times and casting will be announced at a later date.

The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture just launched its first exhibition of 2014, MOTOWN: THE TRUTH IS A HIT. Featuring items that highlight Motown's inimitable founder Berry Gordy and the institution's most beloved musical acts, the multi-media showcase chronicles one of the most significant record labels in American music history. Bridgeport Theatre Company, soon to celebrate four years since it was founded, is presenting Dreamgirls, the big, bold, groundbreaking musical. The Henry Krieger-Tom Eyen show premiered in 1981 and is loosely based on Diana Ross and The Supremes and other singers who helped make Motown a huge crossover success. More than 30 years later, it is still a terrific show, but a little cutting would make it easier for today's audiences to digest.
