MOTOWN Extends Chicago Run at Oriental Theatre Through 8/9

Producers Kevin McCollum, Doug Morris and Berry Gordy, along with Broadway In Chicago, have announced that due to popular demand MOTOWN THE MUSICAL has added four weeks to its Chicago engagement. The National Tour will launch at the Oriental Theatre on April 22 and now play 16 weeks, through August 9, before continuing on its National Tour across North America. The final block of tickets for performances July 15 through August 9 will go on sale Tuesday, April 22 at 10 a.m. (more...)

The Meeting* hosted by Justin Sayre, the acclaimed comedy/variety show, will continue its engagement at JOE'S PUB at The Public Theater on Sunday, April 20 at 7:00 PM with a celebration of the lauded actor, writer and director John Cameron Mitchell just in time for the Broadway debut of his celebrated musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch. After a highly-successful season at 54 Below, The Meeting* has returned to its downtown roots this year with shows through May. The Meeting* has been called 'delicious and delightfully droll' by The New York Post, and 'hilarious and sardonic' by The Village Voice. Such was the case in 1978 when Prince tapped Sheila E. to record on the Purple Rain album, where she lent vocals to 'Let's Go Crazy' and 'Erotic City'. From there on out, their musical lives have often been intertwined. On her own, Sheila E's R&B and jazz-fusion roots have solidified her in the annals of rock history as a dynamic singer/songwriter, percussionist and drummer. This amazing artist will be in concert at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, June 1, at 8 p.m. performing from her songbook, which includes 'The Glamorous Life', 'A Love Bizarre' and the 'We Are the World' session. To that end, 1,500 New York City public high school and middle school students from 20 schools (and one school from East Orange, NJ), who are participating in TDF's Stage Doors Program, attended a special matinee performance of Broadway's smash hit, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL today, April 3 at 1pm at the Lunt Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street, NYC). The Rockettes, CAMELOT, MOTOWN, Dance, Jazz and More Set for Omaha Performing Arts' 2014-15 Season

Omaha Performing Arts' 2014/2015 Season will be a spectacular season of award-winning productions and performers. The upcoming season was announced during a subscriber and patron event at the Holland Performing Arts Center on March 31. Two of the iconic Rockettes helped kick off the night and led a dance demonstration for local youth in the lobby after the event.
