Iconic dances, magical choreography and incredible music come together as American Dance Spectacular at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, October 22 at 7pm as part of the Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series. From The Charleston and Jitterbug to Disco, and Hip Hop Broadway's hottest dancers and singers backed by a live band will take you to America's flashiest dance floors all choreographed by Al Blackstone of TV's So You Think You Can Dance ! The cast includes Jennifer DiNoia (Broadway's WICKED (Elphaba), MAMMA MIA!), Vishal Vaidya (Broadway's GROUNDHOG DAY), Daniel Gaymon (Broadway's CATS), Alexa Green (Broadway's WICKED) with music direction by Bryan Perri (Broadway's Wicked ), book by Susan Batten (Lifetime TV's Showing Roots ), and created and directed by Daniel C. Levine ( Mamma Mia!, Les Miserables ). American Dance Spectacular is a show that dance fans will not want to miss! Andrea Frierson (Me & Ella, Once On This Island) and Chris Dilley (Broadway Inspirational Voices, Voca People) will be the featured vocalists in the September 10th installment of 'Russ Kaplan's Broadway Jazz Session,' the popular monthly series which presents In Transit composer Kaplan's innovative jazz interpretations of current Broadway favorites. Guests slated to appear later this year include Tony-winner Debbie Gravitte (Jerome Robbins' Broadway, Chicago) on October 1, and Marva Hicks (Motown; Caroline, or Change) on December 10.
