Bargemusic 's Here and Now Series presents clarinetist and hichiriki player Thomas Piercy in a Composers/Performers concert. The September 22nd 'Tokyo to New York - Composer/Performers' concert features six world premiers and two recent works with Piercy performing each composition with the composers. The premiers composed specifically for Piercy are by composer/pianists Trevor Bachman, Yihan Chen, Melissa Grey,David Morneau, Alon Nechustan, and David Wolfson. Other music on the concert is by composer/pianists Reiko Fueting and Fernando Otero.

No, not that paparazzi, although no doubt they will be present, too.  The Paparazzi is the original new musical by Algonquin Theater Productions, bursting its way to Broadway in 2018. 

NYMF is coming to a close but there are still plenty of shows to catch before the annual festival packs up until next summer. Of course, NYMF isn't the only thing summer brings to the city. Producers of Play Like A Winner, the new musical by Erik Johnke & David Wolfson and winner of last year's NYMF Developmental Reading Award, are thrilled to announce the complete casting for this July's limited run during the 2017 New York Musical Festival (NYMF).

David Wolfson is a busy man these days. Besides having composed opera, musical theatre, choral music, band music, orchestral music, chamber music, comedy songs, cabaret songs and one memorable score for an amusement park, he is currently scheduled to have not one, but two shows happening this summer in New York's festival season.

The two person musical is directed by Tom Herman, and features the talents of Dana Aber and Spencer Plachy. Performances are Wednesday, July 26th at 6pm, Friday, July 28th at 7:15pm and Saturday, July 29th at 4pm. The show is slated to run Off Broadway in the fall of 2017.

The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) announced today the initial lineup for 2017 NYMF. Among the shows announced in the lineup are the Next Link Project musical selections, as well as invited production selections. Now in its fourteenth year, the 2017 Festival will take place July 10th through August 6th at locations around midtown Manhattan in New York City.
