Eric Rosen, artistic director of Kansas City Repertory Theatre, opens the Rep's 2009-10 season with the Tony Award-winning musical Into the Woods by Stephen Sondheim. Broadway director Moisés Kaufman will direct.

The Clockwork Theatre, a New York City-based non-profit organization is proud to announce the first production of their 5th anniversary season, UNDERGROUND, written by JAMES McMANUS (winner of the 2006 Princess Grace Playwriting Award). Performances will begin on Tuesday, September 29th; opening on Sunday, October 4th; and will run through October 17th, 2009 at the Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street).

With Matthew Modine playing a role he is unequivocally perfect for (a fictionalized version of himself), one can imagine the casting challenge for the rest of the characters in the Geffen Playhouse's upcoming production of Matthew Modine Saves the Alpacas. But - barring having identical names to the characters they play - the Geffen Playhouse's cast includes a troupe of comedians befitting their satirical roles.

Producers David Richenthal, Jack Viertel, and Alan D. Marks have announced that the box office opens today for the Broadway production of the critically-acclaimed New York City Center Encores! production of Finian's Rainbow, which transfers to Broadway's St. James Theatre, 246 West 44 Street, beginning Thursday, October 8 at 8pm, with an opening set for Thursday, October 29 at 6:45pm.
