Totem Pole Playhouse, Pennsylvania's premiere summer theatre, located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA, has announced a slate of two new plays and the return of two classic musicals for the theatre's 66th summer season, sponsored by the Franklin County Visitors Bureau.

Now Cabrillo Music Theatre brings this amazing story to life with THE LITTLE MERMAID, live on stage! This is not simply a children's show - it's a brand-new fully-developed Broadway musical, in the spirit of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, THE LION KING, and MARY POPPINS, and Cabrillo Music Theatre's production will be the first in the region!

The destination for girls' night out in Southern California this month is definitely Plummer Auditorium in Fullerton. That's where 3-D Theatricals' revival of David Yazbek and Terrence McNally's THE FULL MONTY kicks into high gear for the next two weekends.

Based on the hit motion picture, 3-D Theatricals of Orange County, California puts its award-winning spin on The Full Monty... one of Broadway's most hilarious, yet truly touching family musicals April 15 - 17 at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center in Redondo Beach, CA; and April 22 - May 8, 2016 at the historic Plummer Auditorium in Fullerton, CA.  Official "press" openings in Redondo Beach and Fullerton will be Saturday, April 16 and Saturday April 23, respectively. The production is directed by 3DT Executive Producer and Artistic Director T.J. Dawson,  with Choreography by Leslie Stevens; and  Musical Direction by Conductor Corey Hirsch.  Ryan Ruge serves as Assistant Director. In Coyote Stageworks' superb production of ART, a plain white painting that contains a bit of texture, and possibly, a few almost invisible tints, serves as the catalyst for three middle-aged men to examine their friendship.The expressions of emotion, whether through the writer's words or through the actors' inflections, body-language, physical altercations, and yelling back and forth, are so natural that I forgot that these gentlemen were acting. They are so convincing that it is almost painful in spots to watch them attempt to destroy each other.

Coyote StageWorks, the award-winning Actors' Equity professional theater company, will present eleven performances of "Art" by French playwright Yasmina Reza at the Annenberg Theater beginning March 25, 2016. A 1998 Tony Award winner for Best Play that has been packing in audiences worldwide ever since, "Art" raises questions about art and friendship. In an ironic twist of casting, the comedy will bring together on stage for the first time three original founding members of Coyote StageWorks: Founding Artistic Director Chuck Yates, as well as Larry Raben and David Engel, who are company members and serve on the board of the organization. They have been friends for more than 25 years and the Desert Theatre League has bestowed numerous Desert Star Awards on each.

There are undoubtedly other productions worthy of merit in 2015 which I did not cover. This list is based only on what I saw and reviewed. (alphabetical listings; Equity, Equity-waiver & Non-Equity productions are mixed) (artists performing outside LA may be included in performance categories) No set, costume, or technical awards. I leave that to the bigger awards and to the expertise of those who really know those fields inside out.
