Princess Cruises celebrated the New York premiere of 'Born to Dance,' the latest offering from its first-of-its-kind partnership with Stephen Schwartz, Oscar, Grammy and Tony Award-winning composer of 'Wicked,' 'Godspell,' and 'Pippin.' There are days when I have to pinch myself to the things that I get lucky enough to cover. Most recently, I was invited to see a new show that is being produced by Academy/Grammy/Tony Award winning, lyricist/composer/producer, Stephen Schwartz, in a partnership with Princess Cruise Lines.

American Dance Spectacular' will be performed at The Ridgefield Playhouse (Oct 22, CT), Schimmel Center (Oct 21, NYC), and OnStage at Kingsborough (Oct 28, Brooklyn) this month.

The latest collaboration between Princess Cruises and Stephen Schwartz is called BORN TO DANCE. On October 7, 2017, press and friends of the creators were treated to a special performance of the show aboard the Regal Princess while ported at the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal.

Iconic dances, magical choreography and incredible music come together as American Dance Spectacular at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, October 22 at 7pm as part of the Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series. The Schimmel Center presents American Dance Spectacular! on Saturday, October 21 at 7:30 p.m., exploring the history of American popular dance throughout the 20th century, including the Charleston, Lindy hop, jitterbug, twist, voguing, and more. The performance is directed, co-written and created by Daniel C. Levine (Broadway's Les Mis rables, Chicago, and Mamma Mia!) with choreography by Al Blackstone (Fox's So You Think You Can Dance), music direction by Bryan Perri (Broadway's Wicked and Next to Normal), and book by Susan Batten (Lifetime's Showing Roots) together with six Broadway dancers backed by three vocalists and a live band.

Considered one of the most iconic musicals ever written, 'Jesus Christ Superstar' includes legendary hits such as 'Everything's Alright,' 'I Don't Know How To Love Him,' and 'Gethsemane.' This is a unique adaptation of the multiple Tony Award winning, and Laurence Olivier Award-nominated, classic Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice production and is produced by ACT of Connecticut.

Show stopping dance numbers from Broadway's most iconic shows will take over The Ridgefield Playhouse stage with DANCIN' BROADWAY onToday, February 25!   Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series presents this dazzling romp through Broadway musicals and the great dance numbers that made musical theatre history!  Partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa and Bruce Bennett Nissan, DANCIN' BROADWAY will have two shows - a shortened performance appropriate for children and families at 4 p.m., which is part of the Ridgefield Academy Family Series, and a full performance at 8 p.m.  From Agnes de Mille to Bob Fosse to Jerome Robbins, iconic choreography has made stars of dancers and forged the path of Broadway musical theatre.
