Lucie Arnaz Makes Cafe Carlyle Debut Tonight

As the daughter of one of show business' most prominent couples, Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz, Emmy Award-winning singer/actress Lucie Arnaz has forged a distinct career of her own. She has had starring roles on Broadway, television and film, and has won awards including an Emmy, a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award. She brings her new show, Spring is Here, to The Carlyle for a limited five-night engagement, tonight, April 15 through 19.

The York Theatre Company continues its 2013-2014 season with the world premiere of the new musical, Inventing Mary Martin, conceived, written and directed by Stephen Cole, with music supervision and arrangements by David Krane, music direction by Lawrence Goldberg, co-directed and choreographed by Bob Richard, and original music and lyrics by legendary composers Cole Porter, Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein, Vernon Duke & Howard Dietz, Kurt Weill & Ogden Nash, Noel Coward, Irving Berlin, Jule Styne & Carolyn Leigh, Howard Dietz & Arthur Schwartz, and Tom Jones & Harvey Schmidt, among others. Cabaret and Broadway legends, Ann Hampton Callaway and Liz Callaway are set to bring their acclaimed cabaret show, Sibling Revelry to Sydney and Melbourne this June. The dynamic sisters first performed Sibling Revelry at New York's Rainbow and Stars in 1995 and have been performing it ever since. 2014 sees Sibling Revelry spread to Sydney on June 23 at The Basement and to Melbourne Recital Centre on June 25 after their appearance at The Adelaide Cabaret Festival.

Monday night, April 28, New York Conservatory presents a rare treat. We're used to concerts and benefits on the household names of musical theatre - especially the Golden Age - but here's one dedicated to one of the Great White Way's unsung heroes - Herbert Greene. A shrewd producer, natural conductor and orchestrator, and gifted composer, Greene was behind some of Broadway's classic productions. He worked side-by-side with Meredith Willson on the legendary The Music Man and with Frank Loesser onMost Happy Fella; built the enthralling orchestrations behind Sondheim's Anyone Can Whistle, a musical ahead of its time, even influencing the addition of a song which was a veiled 'Love Note" to Lee Remick; and even trained Broadway luminaries likeamong them were Rex Harrison, Rosalind Russell, Angela Lansbury, Barbara Cook, Robert Preston, Don Ameche, and Judy Holliday.

The story concerns madcap antics aboard an ocean liner bound from New York to London. Billy Crocker is a stowaway in love with heiress Hope Harcourt, who is engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. Nightclub singer Reno Sweeney and Public Enemy #13 Moonface Martin aid Billy in his quest to win Hope. The musical introduced such songs as 'Anything Goes', 'You're the Top', and 'I Get a Kick Out of You.'
