Lucie Arnaz Makes Cafe Carlyle Debut Tonight

As the daughter of one of show business' most prominent couples, Lucille Ball & Desi Arnaz, Emmy Award-winning singer/actress Lucie Arnaz has forged a distinct career of her own. She has had starring roles on Broadway, television and film, and has won awards including an Emmy, a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award. She brings her new show, Spring is Here, to The Carlyle for a limited five-night engagement, tonight, April 15 through 19.

Spring Is Here will runTuesday - Saturday at 8:45pm. Tickets are $70 ($120 for premium seating, $50 for bar seating) Tuesday - Thursday; and $80 ($130 for premium seating, $60 for bar seating) on Friday and Saturday. In Spring Is Here, Arnaz will focus on the arc of love in all its glory and misgivings. Joined by Musical Director Ron Abel, bassist Tom Hubbard and drummer Ray Marchica, she'll perform the songs of Sammy Cahn, Jimmy Van Heusen, Jule Styne, Cy Coleman, Carolyn Leigh, Johnny Mercer, David Zippel, Marilyn & Alan Bergman, Johnny Mandel, Harold Arlen, Ira Gershwin, Yip Harburg, Cole Porter, David Friedman, Craig Carnelia, Chuck Steffan, Madeline Stone, along with original material.

Lucie Arnaz began her career on the television series "Here's Lucy." In the theatre she starred in Vanities, Annie Get Your Gun, Educating Rita, Whose Life is it Anyway?, I Do! I Do!, The Guardsman, Social Security, and My One and Only for which she received the Sarah Siddons Award. On Broadway, Arnaz has starred in Seesaw, They're Playing Our Song, Lost In Yonkers, and Grace and Glorie. She has hosted her own radio show, performed the opening number at the 1984 Academy Awards show, and appeared twice at White House gala events. Arnaz's film credits include The Jazz Singer, Who Killed The Black Dahlia, Washington Mistress, The Mating Season, Who Gets The Friends?, and Abduction of Innocence. Arnaz has toured worldwide with her nightclub act, and released two albums, Just in Time (Concord Jazz, 1993) and Latin Roots (LML Music, 2010). She received an Emmy for her documentary Lucy & Desi: A Home Movie.
