by Chris Arneson - Jan 28, 2016

There's currently a live version of the classic movie Dirty Dancing touring, and it's in Denver through the end of the month. I'll admit, I've never seen the film version of Dirty Dancing. (I swear, it's the truth.) But I had the time of my life. (OK, sorry.)

BWW Review: DIRTY DANCING at Music Hall
by Alan Portner - Dec 9, 2015

Fun for the audience, but not on the level of the film

BWW Review: DIRTY DANCING - THE CLASSIC STORY ON STAGE is a Magic Moment
by Christine Swerczek - Nov 19, 2015

I know everyone will expect this review to begin with, "I've Had the Time of My Life," but I will skip that well-known song that serves as the finale to DIRTY DANCING and go back to the opening number which defines it so well as "This Magic Moment."

BWW Review: Not so Dirty DIRTY DANCING Energizes Stage at Fisher Theatre thru Nov 1
by Anton Anderssen - Oct 23, 2015

Prepare to be wowed by a fun, energetic jukebox musical, "DIRTY DANCING" now on stage at the beautiful Fisher Theatre in Detroit. This show is a live adaptation of the 1987 film, and was written by the same playwright Eleanor Bergstein; it focuses on civil rights, Vietnam, and class conflict. However, I believe this production promotes form over substance: let's hear it for the killer dancing, killer singing, killer songs and killer acting. It's hard to feel sorry for the economic disparity of a young man from the wrong side of the tracks when he takes off his clothes and he is a 100% ripped stud.

BWW Review: DIRTY DANCING National Tour
by Keith Waits - Oct 19, 2015

To begin at the end: the stage production of Dirty Dancing brought cheers and screams from the opening night audience of the Broadway in Louisville at Johnny's iconic line about Baby and at the even more iconic dance number following that flooded the stage. Gillian Abbott and Christopher Tierney, respectively, inhabit these roles with enough of a nod to the originals (Jennifer Grey and the late Patrick Swayze) that audiences are swept back to the 1987 movie.

by Jeffrey Ellis - Sep 23, 2015

SPIDER-MAN Swings Off Broadway, Part Four: Broadway Run & The Future - Litigation, Celebration & Vegas
by Tyler Peterson - Jan 3, 2014

Today's final edition of 'SPIDER-MAN Swings Off Broadway' chronicles the production's three-year run, eclipsing the expectations of critics and naysayers that claimed Spidey would fail to weave his web on the Great White Way. From Taymor's notorious legal battle with the show's producers, to an official closing notice, SPIDER-MAN has managed to remain at the Foxwoods night after night, providing audiences with a never-before-seen evening of theatre - and the promise of a Las Vegas venture in the near future.

SPIDER-MAN Swings Off Broadway, Part Three: The Opening Night - Bows, Red Carpet & Taymor's Return
by Tyler Peterson - Jan 2, 2014

Today's edition of 'SPIDER-MAN Swings Off Broadway' showcases the show's highly anticipated and much-delayed opening night on the Great White Way. Spidey first 'officially' wove his web for an all-star audience on June 14, 2011 - over five months behind schedule - with an altered book, additions to the electric rock score, and a slew of new high-flying aerial feats, in hopes of puting an end to the criticism once and for all.
