The Public Theater will begin previews for the world premiere of Gently Down the Stream on Tuesday, March 14. Written by Martin Sherman and directed by Sean Mathias, the show has been extended one week through Sunday, April 23, with an official press opening on Wednesday, April 5. The Public Theater announced complete casting today for the world premiere of GENTLY DOWN THE STREAM, written by Martin Sherman. Directed by Sean Mathias, the show begins previews on Tuesday, March 14 and has been extended one week through Sunday, April 23, with an official press opening on Wednesday, April 5.

LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater opens its 2016-2017 season with the world premiere of The Harvest, by Samuel D. Hunter, directed by Davis McCallum. The Harvest, whose cast will feature Gideon Glick, Scott Jaeck, Leah Karpel, Peter Mark Kendall, Madeleine Martin, Christopher Sears, and Zoe Winters, is running for six weeks only through Sunday, November 20th at the Claire Tow Theater. The Pearl Theatre Company is pleased to present the New York premiere of Stupid Fu**ing Bird, Aaron Posner's award-winning wry riff on Anton Chekhov's masterpiece The Seagull. Directed by Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival's Artistic Director Davis McCallum, the production, running through May 8, scoops up Chekhov's tale of unrequited love, missed opportunities, and misplaced dreams and sets it down squarely in the bustle of 21st century life. With its rebellious title evoking Constantine's subversive play-within-a-play from the original, it captures the heartbreaking humor of the tale while playing as brilliantly with dramatic form as Chekhov himself once did.

Pioneer Theatre Company's production of the new comedy ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS, is a well-designed, wacky romp. Although there are some missteps, it features well-crafted moments of sidesplitting humor.

Jonathan Bank, Artistic Director of the Drama Desk and OBIE Award-winning Mint Theater, today announced that the Mint's latest production: The Fatal Weakness by George Kelly, would extend performances through October 26th to accommodate audience demand even before it opens. Jesse Marchese directs a cast that features Cliff Bemis, Cynthia Darlow, Kristin Griffith, Sean Patrick Hopkins, Patricia Kilgarriff, and Victoria Mack. Opening Night is set for Monday September 15th (7pm) at Mint's home (311 West 43rd Street, just west of 8th Avenue).

'Third' is an entertaining, thought provoking play that should not be missed by area audiences. Directed by Michael Cumpsty and starring Annette O'Toole, it is now at Two Rivers Theater in Red Bank through June 22nd.
