Amas Musical Theatre's (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy will present Jesus Christ Superstar, a Rock Opera with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice.  The story is loosely based on the Gospels' accounts of the last week of Jesus's life, beginning with the preparation for the arrival of Jesus and his disciples in Jerusalem and ending with the crucifixion.

As it did last year with its first Block Party, Center Theatre Group continues to strengthen its relationships within the Los Angeles theatre community by creating additional avenues for the organization to work with local playwrights, actors, directors and designers to gain more exposure for their work in greater Los Angeles. This year, Center Theatre Group received 53 submissions for Block Party 2018 from intimate theatre companies in the greater Los Angeles area who each submitted one production that opened at their location between January 1, 2016, and May 30, 2017. This year's first Block Party 2018 selection is the Playwrights' Arena production of BLOODLETTING, written by Boni B. Alvarez and directed by Playwrights' Arena Artistic Director Jon Lawrence Rivera. The play opened at the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City on Saturday, March 31 and closes Sunday, April 8.

The Playwrights' Arena production of "Bloodletting," which Center Theatre Group is remounting at the Kirk Douglas Theatre as part of the second annual Block Party: Celebrating Los Angeles Theatre, will open this Saturday, March 31 at 8 p.m. Written by Boni B. Alvarez and directed by Playwrights' Arena Artistic Director Jon Lawrence Rivera, "Bloodletting" is currently in previews and will close April 8.

After serving a combined 60 years in prison for crimes they did not commit, three recently exonerated Texans — Christopher Scott, Johnnie Lindsey and Steven Phillips — join forces to form the unlikeliest of investigative teams, on a mission to help wrongfully convicted prisoners obtain freedom like they did. In Jamie Meltzer's hardboiled yet rousing documentary, brotherly bonds are formed out of shared hardships — lengthy prison sentences in a state that executes more inmates than any other. Through the steadfast fieldwork of this grassroots 'dream team,' these Dallas detectives are transforming decades of hard time into a new career helping others just like them. The power of a music-driven story, an integral part of Disney Channel's connection to kid and tween viewers, continues to bear out with 'ZOMBIES,' the #1 cable telecast among Kids 6-11, Kids 6-14, Tweens 9-14 and Girls 6-11 in seven months, since the premiere of 'Descendants 2' (July 21, 2017). Among all kids cable TV networks, it is the highest rated telecast in Total Viewers (four million), since the debut of 'Raven's Home' (July 21, 2017), according to newly available L+7 data. Through its first 10 telecasts, 'ZOMBIES' reached 12.8 million Total Viewers, including 4.0 million Kids 6-11. In other metrics, 'ZOMBIES' is Disney Channel's #1 Video-On-Demand property and has been #1 in the DisneyNOW app since its Feb. 16 premiere.
