As one of the largest theatrical events in the world, The New York International Fringe Festival boasts an impressive roster of world premieres yearly. Of them, Los Angeles native Joshua Metzger's new play Sitting Shiva will see its first three dimensional presentation this August. Christopher Scott will direct the 90 minute play. The Broadway and Regional vet cast includes Eddie Boroevich*, Neal Mayer*, and Jeffery Plunkett*. The Production Stage Manager is Katy Moore*, and the production will be designed by Joan Racho-Jansen. *Appearing courtesy of Actors' Equity Association. Sitting Shiva is an AEA-approved showcase. After four weeks of impressive, but not compelling, auditions, on Wednesday night, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE's 11th season dove head-first into an expedited Vegas Callback Week. Not only did we see each of the callback rounds, but we also saw the Green Mile, which brought us to this season's Top-20. While not having the Green Mile lead into a studio performance, as in recent years, was a little disappointing, I definitely appreciated not having the Top-20 announcements drug out for an entire two-hour broadcast. The Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) The Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy will present 9 to 5: The Musical, based on the 1980 20th Century Fox film and originally produced on Broadway by Robert Greenblatt. Directed by Christopher Scott with choreography by Monica Johnson and musical direction by Trevor Bachman, the production will feature 26 members of "The Teen Academy."
