As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the producers of Hamilton recently struck a profit-sharing deal with members of the original cast, ensuring that those who've been with the production since its initial labs will receive a portion of upcoming royalties. Today, the Dramatists Guild of America has released a statement on the matter.

The musical took to Twitter to announce that the recording has now been officially platinum certified, meaning it has sold one million units!

Every night Christopher Jackson takes on a different founding father in HAMILTON, our nation's first President, George Washinton. The role marks Jackson's seventh on Broadway and the first to have earned him a Tony nomination (Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical).
