The Broadway production of GODSPELL will host a special performance to benefit The Actors Fund on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 8pm. The Actors Fund will also be on hand to celebrate THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA's 10,000th Broadway performance on Saturday, February 11 at 2pm.

Produced by Stephen Schwartz, Michael Holland and Kurt Deutsch with Executive Producer Ken Davenport, the CD will be available in stores on Tuesday, January 31, 2012.

Genson Blimline Joins Cast of ROCK OF AGES; Mitchell Jarvis to Return in February

Producers of the five-time Tony Award nominated hit musical ROCK OF AGES have announced that Genson Blimline will take over the role of "Lonny" role beginning today, Monday, December 19. Mitchell Jarvis, who has starred in ROCK OF AGES since it opened on Broadway in 2009 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, is taking a leave of absence from the show to take part in the Alley Theatre production of The Toxic Avenger in Houston, Texas. Jarvis is scheduled to return to Rock of Ages on February 20, 2012.

Created by Jay Kuo and Lorenzo Thione with music and lyrics by Kuo, the original musical tells the story of a Japanese American family forced into an internment camp during World War II. Directed by Stafford Arima (Carrie, Altar Boyz, West End premiere of Ragtime), the production features musical direction and arrangements by Lynne Shankel (Cry-Baby, Company) and choreography by Christopher Gattelli (Newsies, Godspell, South Pacific). Tony Award-winning actress Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon, Les Miserables), television and film icon George Takei ("Star Trek," "Heroes") and Telly Leung (Godspell, Rent) will star.

GOSPELL Cast Album to Get 1/31 Release

The 40th Anniversary production and first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's rock musical GODSPELL officially opened at the Circle in the Square Theater on November 7. The cast of the show spent some time in the recording studio last month to work on a new cast album, and according to Amazon.com, it will be released on January 31, 2012. It is currently available for pre-order.
